Black Sea Region's Foreign Trade Figures Announced

In the first half of 2022, Samsun recorded exports of USD 673.99 million, making it the second-largest exporting province in the Black Sea Region, while ranking fourth in imports. Turkey's Statistics Institute (TÜİK) released foreign trade statistics. According to the data, exports in Turkey increased by 18.7% and imports by 39.7% in June under the general trade system. In the provinces under TÜİK Samsun Regional Directorate's jurisdiction, Samsun recorded June exports of USD 136.5 million and imports of USD 102.0 million. In Tokat, June exports reached USD 4.7 million and imports USD 3.0 million. Çorum recorded June exports of USD 206.7 million and imports of USD 310.2 million. Amasya had exports of USD 13.1 million and imports of USD 4.3 million in June.

Samsun Ranks Second

Among the 18 provinces in the Black Sea Region, Çorum was the leading exporter in the first half of 2022. Çorum, with exports exceeding USD 938 million, was followed by Samsun with USD 673 million. Samsun was followed by Trabzon with exports exceeding USD 480 million. Other Black Sea provinces recorded the following exports: Amasya USD 67 million, Artvin USD 31 million, Bolu USD 92 million, Giresun USD 165 million, Gümüşhane USD 39 million, Kastamonu USD 203 million, Ordu USD 146 million, Rize USD 109 million, Sinop USD 13 million, Tokat USD 21 million, Zonguldak USD 340 million, Bayburt USD 1 million, Bartın USD 15 million, Düzce USD 170 million and Karabük USD 166 million.

Çorum Leads in Imports

Samsun, reflecting its export success in import figures as well, showed positive trends. In the first six months, Samsun recorded exports of USD 673.99 million and imports of USD 561.619 million. Çorum was the leading importer in the Black Sea Region in the first six months with USD 1,274.144 billion. Besides Çorum and Samsun, imports were recorded as follows: Amasya USD 24 million, Artvin USD 16 million, Bolu USD 103 million, Giresun USD 10 million, Gümüşhane USD 853 thousand, Kastamonu USD 143 million, Ordu USD 33 million, Rize USD 44 million, Sinop USD 5 million, Tokat USD 12 million, Trabzon USD 120 million, Zonguldak USD 1,204.869 billion, Bayburt USD 20 million, Bartın USD 3 million, Karabük USD 667 million and Düzce USD 140 million.
