The Kapsül Technology Platform Zindankale Campus, established under Konya Metropolitan Municipality to contribute to the National Technology Initiative and transform Konya into a technology hub, was inaugurated with the participation of Minister of Industry and Technology Mustafa Varank. Thanking Konya Metropolitan Municipality for such an innovative initiative, Minister Varank stated: "It is important that Konya succeeds in this endeavor and brings together so many stakeholders. This will be open 24 hours and become a living space where young people come and spend their time. Konya will succeed in this. This platform will also serve as an example for Turkey." The Kapsül Technology Platform Zindankale Campus, established under Konya Metropolitan Municipality, was inaugurated by Minister of Industry and Technology Mustafa Varank. In his remarks at the opening, Minister Varank highlighted that the Kapsül Technology Platform model is an innovative one. Noting that on the platform, under the leadership of Konya Metropolitan Municipality and in cooperation with universities, technology companies will carry out three main activities for young people, Minister Varank stated: "First, we organize TEKNOFEST, the world's largest technology competition. Within this framework, our young people can come here and prepare for TEKNOFEST competitions and science competitions to the extent they wish. The Metropolitan Municipality and relevant institutions will cover all financial matters. In this regard, it will provide workshop facilities to host TEKNOFEST competitions. Second, by establishing various laboratories here, we will provide infrastructure for our young people and entrepreneurs who wish to work in smart cities and financial technologies. In this way, it will serve Konya's young people. Third, when you bring together this much accumulated knowledge, it must have a material return and create added value. Here, at the same time, mentoring support and consulting support will be provided to our young people for the commercialization of all these initiatives," he said.

"Konya's success in this endeavor is important" Thanking Konya Metropolitan Municipality for this innovative initiative, Varank stated: "We already call Konya 'My City.' Therefore, Konya, which is our city as well, succeeding in this undertaking and bringing together so many stakeholders is truly important. The Ministry of Industry and Technology is a ministry with activities in all these fields. I am proposing two options to you; we can make this a city incubator of a technology park. When it is a city incubator, many different supports and tax advantages can be utilized. Or, if you wish, KOSGEB has technology centers. Here too, we can provide personnel support and support for activities, infrastructure support, and benefit from tax advantages again. If the stakeholders come together and choose which of the two options you want, we as the ministry will provide that support to this platform. This will be open 24 hours and become a living space where young people come and spend their time. Konya will succeed in this. This platform will also serve as an example for Turkey. I wish the Kapsül Technology Platform particular success and prosperity for our young people," he said. Konya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Uğur İbrahim Altay noted that they are working together with young people to contribute to the National Technology Initiative and transform Konya into a technology hub, and thanked Minister Varank for the support they provided. Subsequently, after a ribbon-cutting ceremony opening the Kapsül Technology Platform Zindankale Campus, Minister Varank and protocol members conducted inspections and conversed with university students. The Kapsül Technology Platform, Turkey's first municipality-backed technology platform established by Konya Metropolitan Municipality, carries out activities aimed at participation by student teams in TEKNOFEST and numerous national and international competitions. In 2021, the year it was founded, the Kapsül Technology Platform, which supported a total of 40 teams across 7 different technology competition categories, developed 831 different technological products. At TEKNOFEST where 22 teams became finalists, one of the teams under the platform's umbrella succeeded in placing in the European Rover Challenge. In 2022, the Kapsül Technology Platform provides support to 100 competition teams currently.
