What can you tell us about your work related to occupational health and safety?
Jotun is a brand with very high environmental sensitivity. We view sustainability as a long-term competitive advantage. We concretise this through our "Green Steps" concept, which is valid worldwide. Our "Green Steps" concept comprises five important subject headings: lower solvent emissions, energy efficiency, reduced carbon footprint, waste recycling and reduced use of harmful substances. In all the countries where we operate, we continue our activities related to the green steps we are taking. With our products that have low V.O.C (volatile organic compound) levels and formulations that do not contain harmful components such as lead, mercury and chromium, we create environmentally friendly and healthy living spaces. In order for all these features to become a global standard, we cooperate with many institutions and organizations. For example, we are one of the founding members of the Green Building Association (ÇEDBİK). Occupational Health and Safety is very important to us. Our production facilities hold OHSAS 18001 occupational health and safety management system certification, ISO 14001 environmental management system certification and ISO 9001 quality management system certification. We experience almost no issues related to work accidents and injuries. We make decisions regarding occupational health and safety together with our employees. Committees formed by employees submit projects to improve their own work environments; these projects are evaluated and implemented shortly afterwards.Gallery
