Emrullah Eruslu Era Begins at İZODER İZODER, which has been the voice of Turkey's insulation sector for 30 years, held its Ordinary Election General Assembly with broad member participation. At the general assembly where the new management was determined, Emrullah Eruslu, who was Vice Chairman in İZODER's current management and took over the Management Board Chairmanship mid-way through the 14th term, was unanimously elected as the 15th Term İZODER Management Board Chairman. In his opening speech, Emrullah Eruslu said, "As we enter the 100th year of our Republic and the 30th year of İZODER, we are fully confident that as the 15th Term Management Board, we will take İZODER's work even further." The Ordinary Election General Assembly Meeting of İZODER, which works to promote insulation awareness across Turkey and develop the insulation sector, was held at Radisson Blu Hotel Asia on 16 March 2023 Thursday, with the participation of İZODER members and wide representation from the sector. At İZODER's Ordinary Election General Assembly, management and supervisory boards were determined for the 3-year period covering 2023-2026. Emrullah Eruslu, who was Vice Chairman of the 14th term and took over the Management Board Chairmanship on 10 June 2021, was unanimously elected to the Management Board Chairmanship. The opening speeches of the General Assembly were delivered by Emrullah Eruslu, Chairman of the Management Board of İZODER (Heat, Water, Sound and Fire Insulation Contractors Association), Orhan Turan, Chairman of the Management Board of TÜSİAD (Turkish Industrialists' and Businessmen's Association), and Tayfun Küçükoğlu, Chairman of the Management Board of Türkiye İMSAD (Turkish Construction Materials Manufacturers Association). Following the opening speeches, a plaque ceremony was held for İZODER members who have completed 5, 10, 20 and 30 years of membership. İZODER Chairman Emrullah Eruslu began his opening address to the General Assembly by expressing sadness about the earthquakes centered in Kahramanmaraş that profoundly affected all of Turkey: "The earthquake that occurred on 6 February and affected 11 of our provinces deeply shook us all. I pray for God's mercy for all our citizens who lost their lives in the earthquake, patience for their loved ones, and swift recovery for our injured. As İZODER, immediately after the earthquake, working in cooperation with official institutions and with the support of many of our members, we arranged the delivery of insulation materials to tent cities to protect earthquake victims from these harsh winter conditions. In this extraordinary situation following the earthquake, I would like to thank everyone who worked with dedication and a spirit of mutual aid and came to the assistance of our citizens there. Since the day our association was founded, we have strived to ensure that our structures are healthy and safe. With safe construction back on the agenda following the earthquake, we are ready to contribute to our sector's responsibilities in all disciplines of the construction industry. As always, in the face of this disaster, we will act as one and whole to reduce suffering. And to prevent such suffering from happening again, we must act comprehensively under the guidance of science, in a state of mobilization." he said. Emrullah Eruslu, also referring to the work of the 14th Term Management Board that he led, said: "As the İZODER 14th Term Management Board, like the management boards before us, we continued our work in accordance with İZODER's mission and vision so that the heat, water, sound and fire insulation sectors would be given the importance they deserve in the eyes of the public and public opinion, and we always strived to take things forward. During our working period, climate change was one of the important agenda items of our country and our world. The ratification of the Paris Agreement signed in 2016 by the Turkish Parliament was an important step for Turkey. As İZODER, we launched and successfully completed our "One Way U Turn Campaign" which drew attention to the role of thermal insulation in energy efficiency and environmental protection. Following the campaign, the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change made amendments to the Building Energy Performance Regulation on 19 February 2022, and definitions related to the Nearly Zero Energy Building (nZEB) concept were added to our legislation, and the transition to nZEB buildings began as of 1 January 2023. Also during this period, an important step was taken on the "Insulation Loan" issue, which we had been working on with relevant institutions for many years to promote the spread of insulation applications in existing buildings. On 6 June 2022, under the leadership of the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources, the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization and the Ministry of Treasury and Finance, with the support of İZODER, the Insulation Loan with a term of up to TRY 50,000 per apartment, 60 months maturity and 0.99% interest rate began to be provided by Ziraat Bank, VakıfBank, Halkbank and Ziraat Participation Bank." Expressing his full confidence that the 15th Term Management Board will take the association's work even further as we enter the 100th year of our Republic and the 30th year of İZODER, Eruslu said, "I sincerely thank our association's founders, the management board members who have served since İZODER was founded in 1993, and all our member companies. The infrastructure they built formed the foundation of our work and always guided us. In the new period, we will continue our efforts without slowing down to take our sector further with the trust placed in us." TÜSİAD Chairman Orhan Turan, one of İZODER's founders, began his remarks by noting that he was moved remembering the times when İZODER was founded 30 years ago. He noted that İZODER, established under difficult conditions with the aim of bringing the insulation sector together and raising public awareness about insulation, has carried out very important work in line with this purpose throughout the process. Touching on the earthquake, Turan said that our country is experiencing one of its most difficult and painful periods. He emphasized the importance of water insulation in earthquake-resistant structures and all insulation applications. Tayfun Küçükoğlu, Chairman of the Management Board of Türkiye İMSAD, said in his remarks that insulation represents modernity in all its categories and congratulated the sector's umbrella organization İZODER on its successes. Saying "We must have confidence in our country and our future," Tayfun Küçükoğlu emphasized the importance of knowledge, awareness and action on the earthquake issue, noting that everyone, all 85 million people, have a responsibility in this regard. At the end of his speech, Türkiye İMSAD Chairman Küçükoğlu wished success to İZODER's new management.  

About İZODER Management Board Chairman Emrullah Eruslu

Born in 1980 in Gaziantep, Emrullah Eruslu graduated from the Chemical Engineering Department of Istanbul University. Following his engineering education, he completed language education at California State University. He began his professional career within the Eryap Group, which operates in the insulation sector. After serving in various positions in the group, Eruslu took on the role of CEO and currently serves as CEO of Eryap Group. Active in civil society organizations, Emrullah Eruslu served as Chairman of the Management Board of XPS Heat Insulation Manufacturers Association (XPSDER) between 2012-2015. He served as a member of the Sustainability Committee at the Turkish Construction Materials Manufacturers Association (Türkiye İMSAD) and is a Management Board member of the Bituminous Waterproofing Manufacturers Association (BİTÜDER). Between 2011-2017, he served as a Management Board member at the Heat, Water, Sound and Fire Insulation Contractors Association (İZODER). Subsequently taking on the role of İZODER Vice Chairman, Eruslu has continued his work as İZODER Management Board Chairman since 10 June 2021.
