Rise in Istanbul's Exports
Istanbul-based companies achieved record monthly exports of USD 8.724 billion in November, marking the highest level on a monthly basis.
Exports from Istanbul-based companies reached USD 8 billion 723 million 971 thousand in November, representing a 41.3 percent increase compared to the same period last year and setting a new monthly record. Based on these results, Istanbul maintained its clear leadership in Turkey's exports by province.

Istanbul was followed by Kocaeli with USD 1 billion 462.3 million, Bursa with USD 1 billion 368.6 million, Izmir with USD 1 billion 105.5 million, and Gaziantep with USD 904.7 million. Istanbul-based companies shipped their products to 218 destinations worldwide last month, with the city's share in Turkey's November exports reaching 40.6 percent. In November, Istanbul-based companies achieved the highest export value increase. Exports from Istanbul-based companies recorded a USD 2.6 billion increase compared to the same period last year in terms of value. Istanbul was followed by Çorum with USD 249.3 million, Izmir with USD 244 million, Kocaeli with USD 213 million, and Ankara with USD 196.6 million. Among Istanbul-based companies, the apparel and clothing sector recorded the highest exports in November. Companies operating in Istanbul's apparel and clothing sector achieved USD 1 billion 186 million in exports in November. This sector was followed by chemicals and chemical products with USD 1 billion 162 million, jewelry with USD 999.7 million, steel with USD 998.4 million, and electrical and electronics sectors with USD 658.6 million. In November, exports from Istanbul-based companies increased in 22 sectors and declined in 5 sectors compared to the same period last year. The jewelry sector recorded the highest export value increase with USD 715.9 million. The jewelry sector was followed by steel with USD 356.2 million, chemicals and chemical products with USD 295.9 million, ferrous and non-ferrous metals with USD 260 million, and defense and aerospace industry with USD 199 million. In November, Istanbul-based companies' largest market was the United Kingdom. Exports from Istanbul to the United Kingdom amounted to USD 805.1 million in November. Following the United Kingdom, exports totaled USD 710.4 million to Germany, USD 457.6 million to the United States, USD 380.3 million to Italy, and USD 362 million to Spain. During the period in question, the United Kingdom recorded the highest value-based export increase from Istanbul-based companies with USD 371.8 million.
