İKMİB Organizes Cosmeet Sectoral Trade Delegation

The Istanbul Chemicals and Chemical Products Exporters Association (İKMİB) organised the third edition of the Cosmeet series in Panama between 10-15 September. Cosmeet, aimed at cosmetics and cleaning products, had previously been held in African and Asian countries. This time, the trade mission organised for Latin American countries between 10-15 September conducted a total of 631 bilateral business meetings. 21 Turkish Companies Represented by 34 Delegates The Cosmeet LATAM Panama Sectoral Trade Mission is organised by İKMİB to enter new markets by sub-sector, increase market share, create opportunities for new business partnerships and contribute to export growth. The İKMİB delegation included 34 representatives from 21 Turkish companies in the cosmetics and cleaning products sector, and was attended by a total of 63 buyers from 14 different Central and South American countries, primarily Panama. The five-day organisation between 10-15 September included bilateral business meetings as well as information sessions, market research and retail tours. The delegation was chaired by Uğur Adıyaman, Member of the İKMİB Board of Directors, and on the first day of the organisation, an information session on the market was held with the participation of Ambassador of Turkey to Panama Lebibe Gülhan Ulutekin and Turkey's Commercial Attaché Halise Büşra Ünsal. On the second day, a retail tour including supermarkets and chain stores was organised for market research, to observe sector channels and to conduct competitor product and price analysis. 631 Bilateral Meetings Held Within the scope of the event, 631 bilateral meetings were held between 63 foreign buyer companies and 21 Turkish participating companies from Panama, Colombia, Peru, Chile, Brazil, Dominican Republic, Costa Rica, Mexico, Uruguay, Honduras, El Salvador, Trinidad, Bolivia, Venezuela and Ecuador. More Than 100 Business Connections Expected Uğur Adıyaman, Member of the İKMİB Board of Directors, stated that the mission was productive and said: "We held the third edition of the Cosmeet series this year. Previously, we had organised two Cosmeet sectoral trade missions for African and Asian countries. In September, we organised this mission to Panama. Our participating companies were generally very satisfied with our organisation. Following the meetings held, more than 100 business connections are expected. In general, the companies expressed their request to extend the programme duration by a few more days so they could visit their customers in neighbouring countries. Going forward, we will continue to organise missions for our sector's potential markets."
