IKMIB Delivers 110,000 Face Shields to Healthcare Workers

The Istanbul Chemical Substances and Products Exporters Association (İKMİB) is continuing its support for healthcare workers. Recently, İKMİB delivered 100,000 litres of disinfectant on behalf of TİM, and has now moved to address healthcare workers' need for protective face shields in the fight against coronavirus.

İKMİB Board Chairman Adil Pelister stated that as the novel coronavirus (Covid-19) outbreak takes effect in our country, the demand for protective face shields among healthcare workers at high risk has rapidly increased. "As İKMİB, we operate with a 'Health First' approach. In this difficult period we find ourselves in, we launched a new production mobilisation under TİM's leadership to meet the needs of our healthcare sector. We stated that as İKMİB, we will ensure the supply of all necessary chemicals, including disinfectant and cleaning materials in particular, for all our physicians and healthcare personnel who work with dedication day and night. Within this scope, we delivered 100,000 litres of disinfectant product to our Ministry of Health and hospitals on behalf of TİM. We are also pleased to support our healthcare workers in addressing another need—protective face shields that will reduce the risk of virus exposure. In cooperation with the Plastics Manufacturers Association (PAGDER), we will deliver 110,000 protective face shields to our Ministry of Health and the Turkish Red Crescent. In the first phase, we delivered 20,000 protective face shields to our Ministry of Health yesterday, and delivered 5,000 protective face shields to the Red Crescent. We believe that through unity and solidarity we will overcome this period more easily. As İKMİB, we will continue to stand beside our nation at all times."
