Medical Sector Future Research Workshop Held at İKMİB
The Medical Sector Future Research Workshop was held by the Istanbul Chemical Substances and Products Exporters Association (İKMİB) on 26-27 February 2022 in Sapanca. The workshop brought together the medical sector to discuss the current state and future of the industry.
At the two-day workshop, which convened all stakeholders shaping the medical sector, it was announced that the Chemistry Technology Centre would include the medical sector in the certification required for MDR/IVDR processes.
Global developments in the sector, access to financing, state support, VAT rates, local regulations and high-value-added products were examined comprehensively. Discussion focused on improving the domestic and international perception of the sector and proposing solutions to sector-related challenges.
The "Medical Sector Future Research Workshop" organized by İKMİB in Sapanca was attended by İKMİB Board of Directors Chair Adil Pelister, İKMİB Board Treasurer Member and Medical Sector Committee Chair Tayfun Demir, leading companies in the sector, representatives from the Ministry of Trade, Ministry of Industry and Technology, Ministry of Treasury and Finance, Ministry of Health-Turkish Medicines and Medical Devices Agency (TİTCK), sector stakeholders and association chairs and representatives, and academics from universities.
Necessary Strategies Determined
In the meetings held, the medical sector was addressed across a wide spectrum ranging from access to financing to state support, adaptation to global developments and local regulations. Through collaborative efforts, strategic recommendations to propel the export-driven medical sector into the future and strategic steps to be taken in the short and medium term were determined.Advertisement
