Turkey's TOGG Becomes First Turkish Company to Win iF Design Award
TOGG won an iF Design Award 2021, one of the world's most prestigious design accolades, with its C-SUV model, marking a significant achievement in the mobility sector. The iF Design Awards, known internationally as a symbol of design excellence and presented since 1954, saw nearly 10,000 products and projects from 52 countries compete this year. 98 independent jury members from 21 countries conducted a comprehensive evaluation to determine the world's best designs.
TOGG became the first Turkish brand to receive an iF Design Award in the mobility sector. The TOGG C-SUV, designed by the TOGG design team under the direction of Murat Günak in collaboration with Pininfarina, won an award in the 'Professional Concept' category.
TOGG Chief Executive Officer Gürcan Karakaş said on the matter: "We realized our design objectives and the vehicle's technical specifications based on user insights. We received support from our world-renowned designer Murat Günak, who recently joined our team as design leader, in reducing the number of design firms from 18 initially both domestic and foreign to 3, in shaping the final design theme, and in the process of selecting Pininfarina, which brought this theme to three dimensions.
The recognition of our original design, which we developed drawing inspiration from our culture and have registered in 27 EU countries as well as China, Japan and Russia to date, with such a prestigious award encourages us to do better," he said.
