Humanis, which started production in 2013 and operates within Saya Holding, is continuing its growth this year with a target revenue of USD 250 million and production capacity of 120 million boxes, driven by high production capacity and a sustainability-focused approach. Supplying one out of every 20 boxes produced in Turkey, Humanis draws attention in global markets as the first Turkish pharmaceutical company to export medicines to China. Within the next five years, Humanis has begun efforts to enter the US market.
Starting production in 2013 and ranking among Turkey's top 500 industrial establishments within 12 years, Humanis today supplies one out of every 20 boxes produced in Turkey. Humanis operates within Saya Holding, which conducts business in various sectors including construction, healthcare, technology and defence industry. Saya Holding, which brings together the brands Folkart, Humanis, Volt Technology and Promote under its roof, pursues activities in line with its goal of sustainable growth across different fields through its multi-sectoral structure.
Cem Mengi, Chairman of the Board of Saya Holding, states: "As Saya Holding, we have built a balanced structure by addressing pharmaceuticals, real estate and defence technologies within the same strategic framework. This structure becomes our greatest strength during periods of increasing uncertainty. Because we do not only manage today; we also prepare for tomorrow's risks. We advance by protecting our profitability and directing our resources to the right areas. Our aim is to build a resilient and long-lasting structure that ensures sustainable growth under all conditions."
Mengi notes that Humanis, which reached TRY 120 million in revenue in the Turkish market, achieved TRY 6.2 billion in 2025 revenue, while he states that Folkart, one of the companies within the holding, reached TRY 6.2 billion and Volt Technology reached TRY 1.4 billion in size.
Haluk Sancak, Chairman of the Board of Humanis, notes that they are in a period where they are beginning to receive concrete returns on the steps they have taken in recent years, saying: "In the Turkish market, we are a structure that not only grows but also strengthens the place it occupies. On the export side, what matters for us is not only numerical growth but sustainability. This year we are targeting USD 250 million in revenue and aiming to increase our production capacity to 120 million boxes annually."
Sustainable growth in exports
Humanis' export network has a broad and balanced distribution across Europe, the Middle East, Central Asia and Africa. European countries such as Germany, France, the Netherlands, Austria, Sweden, Switzerland, Poland and Denmark; nearby regions such as Qatar, Iraq, Lebanon, Yemen; regional markets such as Azerbaijan, Georgia, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Kosovo; developing countries such as Ethiopia, Tanzania and Vietnam occupy important positions on Humanis' export map.
Humanis GmbH, established by Humanis in Germany two years ago, has enabled direct presence in the European market, significantly increasing the company's strength and sustainability in this geography.
Humanis, which obtained EU GMP certification (Good Manufacturing Practices) in its fourth year of establishment, subsequently documented its compliance with international standards in manufacturing processes through GMP certification received from Canada. This multiple certification structure enables the company to be positioned as a reliable manufacturer in different geographies, while directly supporting its export capability.
Opening a critical threshold in China
Humanis being the first company to export medicines from Turkey to China is evaluated not only as a success in entering a new market, but as an important threshold in terms of the Turkish pharmaceutical industry's production quality, regulatory compliance and international competitiveness. The ability to enter one of the world's markets with the highest standards and most competitive conditions demonstrates that Humanis has become a trusted manufacturer on a global scale, while contributing strategically to the position of the Turkish pharmaceutical sector in foreign markets.
US target: a new league
The next strategic threshold in Humanis' international growth journey is the US market. Starting drug development projects to enter the US market within the next five years, the company views this goal not only as a new export area but as a transformation process that will advance its entire structure from production to quality systems, from licensing to supply chain management to a higher level.
Strengthening quality, traceability, validation and documentation processes in line with FDA requirements, Humanis is preparing its R&D and operational infrastructure in phases for entry into this market.
Broad portfolio, value-focused growth
With over 200 licensed products and a structure spanning 12 different therapeutic areas, the company is positioned strongly not only in scale but also in diversity. Operating in numerous areas such as paediatrics, cardiology, pulmonary diseases, otolaryngology, internal medicine, infection, gastroenterology, dermatology, physical therapy and rehabilitation, orthopaedics, rare diseases, psychiatry and neurology, Humanis is strengthening its current product portfolio while moving towards higher value-added therapeutic areas. The company is continuing its work to enter the oncology and diabetes fields within three years.
Concrete contribution in rare diseases
Aligned with a human-centred healthcare approach, Humanis positions rare diseases as one of its priority focus areas. Alongside its work in Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension, the company began offering treatment options for rare diseases such as Cerebrotendinous Xanthomatosis (CTX) as of 2024.
The fact that the product developed by the company for CTX treatment provides an annual contribution of TRY 400 million to public finances demonstrates that this initiative creates important value not only commercially but also in terms of the healthcare system and public resources.
Humanis does not limit its approach in rare diseases to merely providing treatment. Supporting early diagnosis, raising awareness among patients and physicians, multidisciplinary information activities and closely monitoring scientific developments are among the important components of the company's approach in this field.
R&D at the centre of growth
R&D is at the centre of Humanis' growth strategy. The approximately 2,500 square metre R&D Centre located within the modern manufacturing facility in Çerkezköy brings together critical stages of the drug development process such as clinical studies, patents, pharmaceutical technology, pharmaceutical chemistry, analytical chemistry, process development and licensing documentation under one roof. Humanis' R&D Centre is among the top five largest facilities in Turkey and Europe.
The company develops products at international standards based on QbD, EMA and ICH regulations in its R&D work. As a concrete example of this approach, a new treatment for hallucinations and delusions seen in psychosis associated with Parkinson's disease was made available to patients in Turkey for the first time after the United States.
Concrete results in sustainability
Sustainability constitutes an important dimension of Humanis' growth story. The company advanced its sustainability journey, which it launched in 2017, with concrete targets and investments. Treating energy management as a strategic priority, Humanis covers 70 per cent of its energy needs from solar energy through USD 8 million Solar Power Plant investments.
Humanis' sustainability vision is not limited to energy alone. The company aims to use water resources more efficiently by developing practices that monitor, reduce and increase water recovery. Achieving a recycling rate of 74 per cent is among the concrete outputs of this approach.
