Turkey's success in Health Informatics has been recognized by HIMSS officials from the United States and Europe. The managers of 164 hospitals received their awards from T.C. Health Ministry Deputy Minister Dr. Şuayip Birinci, HIMSS USA III. President & CEO Harold "Hal" Wolf and HIMSS Analytics Europe and Latin America, United Kingdom Regional Director John Rayner, T.C. Health Ministry Health Information Systems General Director Dr. M. Mahir Ülgü, Medipol University Faculty Member and HIMSS Turkey Director Dr. İlker Köse.

Addressing the award-winning hospital managers with praise, T.C. Health Ministry Deputy Minister Dr. Şuayip Birinci said, "The good you are doing for the entire country to take health in Turkey to better levels, to increase health quality and thereby contribute to both patients and physicians, to bring down health costs—today perhaps it is not placed before you, but tomorrow everyone will gratefully remember what this transformation has brought to the country."

Noting that even for a single hospital, the integration process of electronic records is not merely a matter of technology, HIMSS USA III. President & CEO Harold "Hal" Wolf stated, "What is truly important here is process change. Making integration happen requires time, process and leadership. We have observed hospitals making considerable efforts in digitizing medical records. Looking back at what has been accomplished across this large country in over 160 hospitals in terms of improving citizens' health, we see policy, leadership and tremendous level of effort at work."
