GSO and İskenderun TSO Sign Ur-Ge Cooperation Agreement

GSO and İskenderun TSO Establish Cooperation Within the framework of the cooperation, GSO will provide consulting support to İskenderun TSO's UR-GE project. A joint UR-GE (Supporting the Development of International Competitiveness) meeting was held in cooperation between Gaziantep Chamber of Industry (GSO) and İskenderun Chamber of Commerce and Industry. At the Filter Sector UR-GE Opening Meeting hosted by İskenderun TSO, the activities carried out in the UR-GE projects implemented by GSO to date and the support provided to companies were presented. At the meeting, through the UR-GE project to be conducted in cooperation between GSO and İskenderun TSO, it is planned to implement training, consulting and overseas delegation organization activities to contribute to the filter sector and strengthen the positions of companies in international markets through clustering strategy. Within the framework of the cooperation to be implemented in the coming period, GSO will provide consulting support to the Filter Sector UR-GE Project, which will be conducted by İskenderun Chamber of Commerce and Industry and will last three years. The Filter Sector UR-GE Opening Meeting held in İskenderun was attended by Levent Hakkı Yılmaz, Chairman of the Board of Directors of İskenderun Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Sermest Çapan, Deputy General Secretary of Gaziantep Chamber of Industry, and representatives of filter manufacturing companies. GSO Deputy General Secretary Sermest Çapan, who made a presentation to participants at the meeting, shared his experience regarding the opportunities and support elements offered by the Ministry of Commerce to companies in the projects through UR-GE projects and the gains achieved by companies, and provided information about the UR-GE projects that GSO has implemented to date. At the meeting, Sermest Çapan also provided information on Gaziantep's industrial structure, production and employment, and presented practical examples to participants regarding the application, implementation and support payment processes of activities organized within the framework of UR-GE projects, which the Ministry of Commerce supports at 75 percent. Emphasizing that clustering work is very important in increasing production and exports, Çapan stated that the joint work conducted by companies through clustering in the developing global economy provides more benefits than the activities they carry out individually. Stating that as GSO they are ready to provide all kinds of support, particularly guidance and consulting services to İskenderun Chamber of Commerce and Industry and its member companies in terms of UR-GE projects and clustering, Çapan explained as follows: "Through the various clustering projects we have implemented, we aimed to increase our companies' exports, diversify their markets and raise their competitiveness levels. In the analyses we conducted in this direction, we observed that our companies obtained significant advantages through UR-GE projects and that these advantages provided important increases both in production processes and export capacity. We received important feedback from our companies, especially in terms of satisfaction. We continue to create joint strategies with our companies and implement activity plans for the coming period."     What is UR-GE Through the UR-GE projects implemented at 75 percent support within the framework of the Ministry of Commerce's Circular No. 2010/8 on Supporting the Development of International Competitiveness, companies are supported in areas such as promotion, training, consulting, overseas marketing, purchasing delegation activities, employment support and individual consulting, thereby increasing their international competitive strength.
