GSK Sheds Light on Young Pharmacists' Careers
GSK Türkiye has launched the "Pharmacists of the Future in the Field" project, which aims to guide young pharmacists in their careers. The project brings together pharmacy faculty students with experienced pharmacists over a 3-month period to learn the dynamics of the field from industry experts.
GSK Türkiye has implemented the Pharmacists of the Future in the Field project, launched to guide students in their 4th and 5th years of pharmacy studies at university faculties along their career paths and contribute to their professional development.
The project aims to provide students with field experience under the guidance of pharmacy specialists, with the goal of applying theoretical knowledge to practice.
Emerging from the desire to strengthen the theoretical and practical competence of students seeking to pursue careers in pharmacy, the Pharmacists of the Future in the Field project provides mentored students with online training as well as field experience in sales.
Through training conducted three days per week, students gained skills in persuasion and presentation, negotiation, coping with challenges, interview techniques, GSK working methods and product information, as well as knowledge in various other areas of the pharmacy sector.
GSK Türkiye Human Resources Director Burcu Kuyucu made the following comments on the matter:
"At GSK Türkiye, education and development are among our most important strengths in preventing disease. Based on our human-centered approach, we do not limit the concept of 'improvement' to disease alone; we implement numerous projects that will contribute to the development of young people who will be the future of the health sector. With the Pharmacists of the Future in the Field project, which we launched for this purpose, we aimed to guide pharmacy students in their careers through sustainable education and development programs. As GSK Türkiye, we will continue to add value to our stakeholders in the health sector through projects that contribute to youth development."GSK Türkiye Commercial Channel, Business Development and Business Excellence Director Ömer Faruk Arslan spoke as follows:
"As a company, we place importance on developing projects for students who are the future of our sector and supporting them in their careers. Through the Pharmacists of the Future in the Field program, which we implemented this year, we aimed to provide qualified pharmacists for tomorrow with training in many different subjects, thereby adding a broader professional vision to their skill set. With this program, which we plan to continue in 2023, we aim to support more young people and add value to our sector."Advertisement
