Gentaş Kimya Steps Up Growth on Global Demand

Gentaş Kimya, one of Türkiye's leading companies in formaldehyde-based resins and acrylic sheet production, is shaping its 2025-2027 growth strategy in line with rising cooperation demands from Europe, the US and Asia. Commenting on the matter, Gentaş Kimya Chairman Macit Aydın said, "Alongside European and US companies' efforts to diversify their supply chains, Türkiye has become a strategic production hub amid rising energy costs and shifting trade policies." Noting that this situation has also created an advantage for Gentaş Kimya, Aydın stated that they will reinforce their sustainable growth through long-term supply agreements and planned collaborations with Asian manufacturers.

Gentaş Kimya, a leading Turkish manufacturer of formaldehyde-based resins and acrylic sheets, is shaping its 2025-2027 growth strategy in line with rising partnership requests from Europe, the United States and Asia. In his assessment of the matter, Gentaş Kimya Board Chairman Macit Aydın stated: "Turkey has become a strategic production hub alongside companies from Europe and the United States seeking to diversify their supply chains, as well as rising energy costs and changes in trade policies." Aydın noted that this situation creates advantages for Gentaş Kimya and explained that the company will strengthen its sustainable growth through long-term supply agreements and planned partnerships with Asian manufacturers.

Gentaş Kimya, one of Turkey's established chemical companies with over 25 years of history, is taking concrete steps to turn the transformation in the global supply chain into a growth opportunity. The company aims to use its existing production capacity more efficiently and increase sales volume in the medium term, supported by rising demand and partnership offers from European, U.S. and Asian markets.

Europe's turn to Turkey: Strategic partnership period
Gentaş Kimya Board Chairman Macit Aydın assessed the changes experienced in the company's European and U.S. customer portfolio over the past year as follows:

"Since 2024, European and U.S. companies have been holding discussions with Gentaş Kimya on private label manufacturing to both diversify their supply sources and expand their product portfolios. These companies were previously sourcing from manufacturers in Europe. However, the rise in energy costs in Europe following the Russia-Ukraine war and increased production pressures have turned them toward alternative supply regions. In this search, Turkey stood out with its capacity to produce in line with international quality standards, competitive cost structure and geographical proximity advantages. For companies seeking supply security while also wanting to maintain profitability, Turkey became a preferred choice."

"Companies that previously made spot purchases are now discussing 3-5 year supply agreements and co-branding strategies. For Gentaş Kimya, this means long-term and predictable sales volume. Turkey's Customs Union advantage and reliable supplier position have made our company a preferred business partner for strategic partnerships. This shift will increase our capacity utilization rate in a predictable manner and structurally support our sales volume in the medium term."

New opportunities in the U.S. market: Turkey as an alternative to China
Addressing developments in the U.S. market in the acrylic sheet segment, Macit Aydın also touched on the opportunities created for the company by changes in U.S. trade policies:
"The U.S. administration's strategy of applying additional tariffs on certain Asia-origin products creates direct opportunities for us. Our existing customers in the U.S. want to diversify their supply portfolios, and Turkey ranks high on this list thanks to its NATO membership and reliable supply solution provider status."

"In the past six months, we have held concrete discussions with U.S. distributors and end-product manufacturers who previously worked only with Asian suppliers. Acrylic sheet demand in the healthcare, tourism and retail sectors is increasing, and Gentaş Kimya is in a competitive position in terms of both quality and delivery times to meet this demand. These developments will support the growth of our export sales in the 2026-2027 period."

Strategic partnership requests from Asian manufacturers
Macit Aydın also highlighted the tendency of Asia-based chemical manufacturers to view Turkey as a production hub:

"Due to anti-dumping measures and quota applications, Chinese and other Asian manufacturers are developing production strategies in third countries rather than direct exports to Europe and the U.S. Turkey's logistical access to both Europe and the U.S., customs advantages and skilled workforce make it an attractive hub for these manufacturers."

"We are currently evaluating various cooperation formats such as joint production models with Asian manufacturers, capacity-sharing agreements and long-term supply contracts. While such agreements optimize our capacity utilization rate, they also provide Gentaş Kimya with access to new markets. Some discussions are at an advanced stage and we plan to take concrete steps within 2026."

Sustainable growth and public offering strategy
Macit Aydın also emphasized how these developments support the company's public offering strategy:
"This structural change in the global supply chain strengthens Gentaş Kimya's growth potential. With the resources we will gain from the public offering, we will strengthen the necessary commercial infrastructure to capitalize on these opportunities and expand our sales and marketing team. This will enable more efficient use of our existing capacity."

"Our goal is to meet rising demand while also contributing to our company's long-term sustainability. While increasing the share of exports in total sales, we aim to strengthen our position as a reliable and preferred supplier in both European and U.S. markets."
