GEBKİM MTAL Targets Europe for Teachers and Students

GEBKİM Mesleki ve Teknik Anadolu Lisesi, selected teachers and students are pushing ahead with preparations to apply for the Erasmus Accreditation Certificate, one of the European Union's most prestigious submissions in the education category. Thanks to Erasmus Accreditation, the name of GEBKİM Mesleki ve Teknik Anadolu Lisesi will reach beyond Kocaeli and Turkey's borders to Europe. The Erasmus Accreditation Certificate facilitates project applications by educational institutions, enables higher education institutions to collaborate by coming together, and allows education-sector institutions and organizations to establish networks for project applications under the European Solidarity Programme, enabling them to submit project applications in Europe and receive grants. As a result, schools in Europe are taking steps to carry out joint grant projects and collaborate with schools and higher education institutions holding accreditation certificates. Once GEBKİM MTAL qualifies to receive the Erasmus Accreditation Certificate, numerous projects are envisioned to be implemented within the broad vision of GEBKİM Vakfı. Within the framework of the objective to obtain accreditation from the European Union, a Management Workshop was held with the participation of GEBKİM MTAL's International Project Advisors, representatives of GEBKİM Vakfı, and GEBKİM MTAL educators. At the workshop, the school's situation was analyzed and strategic objectives and priority projects were identified. With the acquisition of the Erasmus Accreditation Certificate, it will become possible to implement projects in education, social and cultural areas financed by the EU, establish cooperation and joint projects with vocational and technical schools from the European Union, enable GEBKİM MTAL teachers and students to travel to European countries, and similarly enable European teachers and students to visit our country, increasing the exchange of knowledge.

GEBKİM Vakfı places special emphasis on English language education at the school so that its teachers and students closely follow developments in the European Union and become part of the work being carried out.

Vefa İbrahim Aracı, Chairman of the Board of Directors of GEBKİM Vakfı, stated that they attach great importance to European Union projects, saying: "We aim for our GEBKİM Mesleki ve Teknik Anadolu Lisesi to provide vocational and technical education at European level and even beyond. We attach great importance to our education and management staff as well as our students being in close cooperation and communication with schools in the European Union, following and learning new production technologies in Europe, and developing projects together. The European Union, within the scope of the 2021-2027 Education, Training, Youth and Sport Programme, will evaluate organizations applying through the European Commission according to criteria in specific areas and will decide on the issuance of the Erasmus Accreditation Certificate following this evaluation. Only two schools in our country have this certificate, and GEBKİM Mesleki ve Teknik Anadolu Lisesi, under the guidance and leadership of our International Project Advisors, has completed its preparations and is highly determined to submit its application and obtain the Erasmus Accreditation Certificate."
