GEBKİM MTAL Celebrates First Graduation Class GEBKİM Foundation's GEBKİM Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School, established to nurture young talent as the future of the chemical sector, has graduated its first class. The graduation ceremony held at GEBKİM MTAL was marked by emotional moments. GEBKİM Education, Research and Health Foundation introduced GEBKİM Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School as a model school during the 2019-2020 academic year, and the institution has become one of the finest examples of school-industry collaboration, achieving significant success. GEBKİM MTAL, which trains qualified personnel to lead the chemical sector—a locomotive sector of Turkey's economy and exports—celebrated the graduation of its first class. The school welcomed 167 students in the 2019-2020 academic year following their LGS exam preferences, selecting GEBKİM MTAL for its innovative approach to professional education that breaks conventional molds. Located in Dilovası, Kocaeli, GEBKİM MTAL prepares its students for the future through an integrated education model combining theory and practice within GEBKİM Specialty Chemical Organized Industrial Zone and industrial settings. The school offers advanced chemistry and industrial automation laboratories, a Pilot Production Facility, internship opportunities at GEBKİM OSB companies, Erasmus programs for international internships and study abroad, as well as culture, arts and sports activities supporting individual development. GEBKİM MTAL held its graduation ceremony with the participation of Dilovası Mayor Hamza Şayir, Dilovası District National Education Director Murat Balay, GEBKİM Foundation executives, GEBKİM MTAL administration and teachers, students and parents, bidding farewell to its first graduates as they begin their new lives. The ceremony was filled with emotional moments, blending joy and sentiment. GEBKİM Foundation Board Member Eralp Erdem, speaking at the ceremony, expressed the pride and happiness of witnessing the graduation of these special students, the first graduates of GEBKİM Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School in Turkey's 100th year. Congratulating the students and their parents, Erdem wished them success. GEBKİM Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School Director Hakan Çelik congratulated the students, noting that they have been well prepared for the sector and life with the quality education they received at GEBKİM MTAL. Highlighting that the students, who experienced distance learning during the pandemic affecting the entire world, participated in numerous projects over their four years, Çelik thanked GEBKİM Foundation for its support. GEBKİM Education, Research and Health Foundation Board Chairman Vefa İbrahim Aracı stated that GEBKİM Specialty Chemical Organized Industrial Zone, which pioneered an exemplary clustering and development model in the chemical industry, has also led projects benefiting society, particularly in education and health. Aracı noted that GEBKİM Foundation, established for this purpose, introduced GEBKİM Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School to provide employment in the sector for young people trained with qualified professional education as demanded by the chemical industry. Stating that they have spared no effort in preparing the youth at GEBKİM Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School for the sector and life in the best way possible, Vefa İbrahim Aracı said: "Education is among our country's and our sector's highest priorities. Our youth, who represent the future of our chemical industry that exports to many countries worldwide and is the engine of national economy and exports, must be equipped with professional education that meets the sector's needs and matches European and developed country standards. GEBKİM MTAL, which we aim to continue our pioneering role in the chemical sector also in education, presents an exemplary education model through the opportunities it offers students and teachers. We are experiencing the joy of our students, who four years ago became part of the GEBKİM family, graduating today. I sincerely congratulate all our graduating students and thank our school's distinguished administrators and teachers. The future sector ahead of GEBKİM MTAL graduates is very bright. We will continue to support them always. I wish them success and may their paths be open," he said.
