GEBKİM Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School Guarantees Employment

GEBKİM Vocational and Technical High School located in Kocaeli will be the choice of students seeking quality vocational education. An introductory meeting about GEBKİM MTAL was held at GEBKİM Organized Industrial Zone under the slogan "Education in Our Chemistry." The purpose of the meeting was to inform teachers who will guide students during their LGS preferences. The meeting began with an opening speech by Vefa İbrahim Aracı, Chairman of the Board of Directors of GEBKİM Education and Health Foundation. Vedat Çetin, Head of the Kocaeli Provincial Directorate of National Education, also gave a speech and emphasized the importance of close cooperation with the sector in addition to improving quality in vocational education. M. İmer Özer, Member of the Board of Directors of GEBKİM Foundation, delivered a presentation providing information about GEBKİM MTAL and expressed that they have embarked on a path to guide young people in the prime of their lives. Hakan Çelik, School Principal of GEBKİM MTAL with 20 years of educator and administrator experience, stated that they have completed all preparations for GEBKİM MTAL to be a role model in vocational education. GEBKİM Vocational and Technical Anadolu High School, established and supported by GEBKİM Education and Health Foundation, invites young people who wish to work in the chemistry sector, which has many sub-sectors such as pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, cleaning products, plastics and packaging, in the 2019-2020 academic year. Located in Dilovası District in Kocaeli, the school will admit 120 students this year based on 2019 LGS scores. The school has 20 classrooms and 12 laboratories, 8 of which are chemistry and 4 industrial automation. GEBKİM Vocational and Technical Anadolu High School, which will also provide dormitory facilities, offers meal and transportation services. Successful students will be eligible for GEBKİM Special Scholarships. Students wishing to continue their academic careers will also benefit from scholarships provided by GEBKİM Foundation and study opportunities abroad.

Aiming to Be a Role Model in Vocational Education

Students will work closely with the industry during their education and conduct micro-level production at the Pilot Production Facility to be established. Final year students will have the opportunity to receive applied education and internships three days a week at facilities of companies operating in GEBKİM Specialty Chemistry Organized Industrial Zone. GEBKİM Foundation Management, which will be alongside students, will also transfer their industry experience to the students.

In addition to sports, a suitable environment will be created for students to develop as successful individuals in their social lives. Foreign language, music and visual arts laboratories as well as strategy games and folk dances clubs will be established at the school.
