Evyap Opens New Production Facility in Indonesia in Its 97th Year

With 97 years of experience in personal care, personal hygiene, and sanitation, Evyap is establishing its third overseas facility in Indonesia as it ranks among the world's leading players in the sector. With manufacturing facilities in Malaysia and Egypt in addition to Turkey, Evyap will strengthen its position in the global oleochemistry market through its new facility in Indonesia.
Evyap, ranked among the world's leading companies in personal care, personal hygiene, and sanitation, has chosen Indonesia for its latest investment outside Turkey.
The groundbreaking ceremony for the new production facility in the Sei Mangkei Region of North Sumatra Province, Indonesia, took place on 5 September 2024. While this marks Evyap's first venture in Indonesia, it is also an important step in the company's growth strategy for Southeast Asia. The project will contribute to strengthening economic ties between Turkey and Indonesia and support sustainable development in the region.
The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by Indonesian Deputy Investment Minister Nurul Ichwan, Turkey's Ambassador to Indonesia Prof. Dr. Talip Küçükcan, Investor Relations Director Sri Endang Novitasari, Malaysian Consul General Shahril Nizam Abdul Malek, Turkey's Honorary Consul Rahmat Shah, Simalungun Governor Radiopoh Hasiholan Sinaga, Evyap Chairman of the Executive Board Mehmed Evyap, members of Evyap's Board of Directors and Executive Board, Evyap Oleo Malaysia, and the Sei Mangkei Special Economic Zone team.
At the ceremony, Indonesian Deputy Investment Minister Nurul Ichwan said: "We are very grateful for this important investment in the region. This investment will play a significant role not only in Indonesia's prosperity and development but also in Asia's. We believe this will strengthen relations between Indonesia and Turkey."
Significant competitive advantage in global market
The new facility will be realized as an important step in Evyap's international expansion plans with an investment exceeding USD 70 million. The Indonesia investment will further strengthen Evyap's role in the global oleochemistry market. The facility will enhance Evyap's operational presence in Southeast Asia and create synergies with existing operations in Malaysia, cementing the company's regional leadership position.
At the ceremony, Evyap Chairman of the Executive Board Mehmed Evyap said: "This investment in Indonesia is an undeniable reflection of the vision left to us by our founders and the values they entrusted to us. Twelve years ago, in 2012, when we laid the foundation for our Johor Bahru plant in Malaysia as Evyap, the Evyap Group was active in bar soap, fast-moving consumer goods, and maritime operations. Today, as Evyap, we are among the companies with the broadest and most global customer portfolio in the oleochemistry sector. When our new facility in Indonesia is completed, we aim to become one of the world's top 5 players in the oleochemistry sector."
