Eti Bakır has undertaken the construction of Gölköy Agricultural Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School, which will provide technology-focused agricultural education in Kastamonu. In addition to the 16-classroom school, the facility will include workshops and greenhouses for hands-on training, with the school planned to be completed within two years and handed over to the Ministry of National Education.

Eti Bakır, which holds a significant position in Türkiye's copper production, continues its investments contributing to the social and economic development of the regions where it operates with a new project in the field of education.

Through its facility operating in the Küre district of Kastamonu, the company has undertaken the construction of Gölköy Agricultural Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School. The school, which will be Kastamonu's first agricultural high school, aims to contribute to supporting the region's agricultural and livestock potential through education, science and technology.

The school, planned with 16 classrooms, will also include a two-story, 180-square-meter workshop building with 4 classrooms, as well as two greenhouses of 160 square meters each. The school, which is planned to also offer boarding services, aims to provide educational opportunities not only to Kastamonu and its districts but also to students coming from surrounding provinces.

Hands-on training for agricultural technologies
At Gölköy Agricultural Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School, areas will be created that will allow students to reinforce the theoretical knowledge they acquire in the classroom through hands-on training.

With the workshop and greenhouse infrastructure, the aim is to develop students' knowledge and skills in agriculture and livestock, enable them to learn modern production methods through hands-on practice, and support educational processes with technology.

The school is expected to contribute to training the qualified human resources needed by the agricultural sector and to increase young people's knowledge and competencies in agricultural production.

"We will complete the school within two years and hand it over to our Ministry of National Education"
Eti Bakır Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors Ali Osman Cengiz stated that the project will contribute to Kastamonu's education infrastructure.

Noting that Eti Bakır has been operating in the Küre district of Kastamonu for 22 years, Cengiz said, "We are pleased that this school, which will meet the needs of the people of Kastamonu, will be brought to life with our support. The high school will also be a boarding school. In this way, it will serve not only Kastamonu and its districts but the entire regional population, including neighboring cities."

Stating that the project is an important investment for the future of the region, Cengiz said, "By bringing a fine facility to Kastamonu, we too will serve as a means for well-educated generations to be raised. Within the scope of the protocol we have signed, we will complete the construction of the school we have undertaken within two years and hand it over to our Ministry of National Education."

Contributing to qualified human resources in agriculture and industry
While Eti Bakır meets approximately 25 percent of Türkiye's copper needs, it also provides one of the important inputs for the agricultural sector through its fertilizer production activities.

The company's investment in agricultural education also aims to contribute to efforts to develop the use of technology and qualified human resources in agricultural production.

With the hands-on training infrastructure of Gölköy Agricultural Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School, the aim is for students to experience production processes firsthand and gain competencies related to the technological transformation in the agricultural sector.

Protocol signed at Kastamonu Governor's Office
