Eksim Enerji Expands Hybrid Investments Combining Wind and Solar at the Same Site

Eksim Enerji is focusing on the hybrid power plant model in its renewable energy investments, aiming to generate more clean energy using existing grid infrastructure. The company has completed hybrid investments at the İzmir Ovacık Wind Power Plant and Balıkesir Susurluk Wind Power Plant sites, while continuing conversion work at the Tokat Killik Wind Power Plant and Amasya Kayadüzü Wind Power Plant.

Eksim Enerji is focusing on hybrid power plant models in renewable energy investments to generate more clean energy with existing grid infrastructure. The company is completing hybrid investments at its İzmir Ovacık Wind Power Station and Balıkesir Susurluk Wind Power Station sites, while continuing conversion work at Tokat Killik Wind Power Station and Amasya Kadadüzü Wind Power Station.

Eksim Enerji, operating under Eksim Holding and generating energy entirely from renewable sources, aims to increase production capacity and efficiency through hybrid investments that support wind power plants with solar energy systems.

With total installed capacity reaching 1.2 GW across Turkey, the company views hybrid power plant investments not merely as a method of creating additional capacity, but as a strategic transformation model for more effective utilization of existing energy infrastructure and more balanced renewable energy production.

Efficiency in Energy Production Increases with Hybrid Systems
Within the scope of hybrid investments completed by Eksim Enerji, the mechanical installed capacity of Balıkesir Susurluk Wind Power Station increased to 86.8 MW, and the mechanical installed capacity of İzmir Ovacık Wind Power Station increased to 41.6 MW.

With the completion of hybrid conversion work ongoing at Tokat Killik Wind Power Station and Amasya Kadadüzü Wind Power Station sites, total mechanical capacity at these facilities is planned to be increased to 56.8 MW.

By utilizing wind and solar energy together at the same site, the objective is to distribute production more evenly throughout the day, use existing grid connections more efficiently, and increase energy system flexibility.

"Hybrid investments represent an important step toward integrated energy systems of the future"
Eksim Enerji CEO Arkın Akbay noted that in the renewable energy sector, the focus is now on production quality and system flexibility, not merely on increases in installed capacity.

Akbay stated, "In renewable energy, systems that use existing resources in smarter, more balanced and efficient ways are becoming increasingly important alongside greater capacity. Utilizing wind and solar at the same site enables more effective use of existing grid infrastructure, more balanced distribution of production throughout the day, and increased energy system flexibility."

Emphasizing that hybrid investments play an important role in the transition to future energy systems alongside digitalization, storage and flexible production approaches, Akbay expressed that they view these investments as one of the fundamental components of the new-generation energy transformation.

Hybrid Power Plant Investments Expanding Across Turkey
Pointing out that hybrid energy investments can be brought online faster compared to new investment sites, Akbay noted that this model offers significant advantages in terms of permit periods, connection opportunities and utilization of existing infrastructure.

Stating that hybrid power plant investments are developing rapidly in Turkey, Akbay said that hybrid power plant capacity approved by EPDK exceeding 5 GW demonstrates that this model has become an important growth area in the renewable energy sector.

Eksim Enerji continues to contribute to Turkey's clean energy transformation by converting its existing renewable energy portfolio into a more efficient, flexible and sustainable structure through hybrid power plant investments.
