EİB Signs Protocol with SKD for Sustainability
Aegean Exporters Associations, continuing to expand the global step it took with the UN Global Compact, the world's largest sustainability initiative in 2019, by implementing projects through national and international funds.
Aegean Exporters Associations, which exceeded its 2021 target with a sustainability-focused export strategy, achieving USD 16.325 billion in exports with a 25 percent increase, signed a cooperation protocol with the Business World and Sustainable Development Association.
"Sustainability investments exceed USD 30 trillion"
Jak Eskinazi, Coordinator Chairman of Aegean Exporters Associations, stating that global sustainability investments exceed USD 30 trillion, holds the view that operations need to be redesigned at every stage. "Our collaborations with institutions and organizations in the sustainability ecosystem continue. Through the cooperation protocol we signed with the Business World and Sustainable Development Association, we will enable our members to lead the circular transformation across the country while adhering to zero-waste principles and circular economy strategies. To support sectors' adaptation process in 2020, we established our Sustainability Working Group to develop new projects, and in 2021, setting another precedent, we established the Sustainability Project and Training Department among Exporters Associations in Turkey." Eskinazi added that Aegean Exporters Associations manages many processes ranging from corporate sustainability to sectoral field work, from human resources sustainability to supporting companies with Sustainability Ur-Ge projects. "Recently, as an Exporters Association, we prepared our Global Compact responsibility disclosure report for the first time. In the very near future, we will announce to the public the Aegean Exporters Associations Sustainability Report, which will set an example for all of Turkey. Both our Association's and our companies' sustainability report cards demonstrate that the innovation we need for further development of our sectors and our Region is taking place."Advertisement
