DYO's "Value for Tomorrow" Project Creates Impact for Future Generations and Society

DYO is contributing to Turkey's future through its corporate social responsibility project "Value for Tomorrow". Launched in 2016, DYO's "Value for Tomorrow" corporate social responsibility initiative showcases "indispensable" values through the themes of "Value in Learning", "Value in Craftsmanship" and "Value in Schools". Within this scope, the "Value in Craftsmanship" initiative reached 416 paint masters over three years, while "Value in Learning" reached more than 42,000 students. Under "Value in Schools", a school painting and paint application standards guide was piloted in 10 schools across 10 provinces. Through the "Value in Craftsmanship" project, DYO Paint provides masters holding Professional Competency Certificates the opportunity to experience color and spatial composition from an architect's perspective. The project brings new dimensions to the professional careers of experienced masters holding certificates from the Professional Qualifications Authority, while enabling newly qualified young masters to receive further training. The "Value in Craftsmanship" project, with training content created by Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University and implementations initiated by Prof. Dr. Burçin Cem Arabacıoğlu, Faculty of Architecture, Department of Interior Architecture at MSGSÜ, reached 100 masters in 5 provinces with 5 training implementations in 2018, and a total of 416 masters over three years. Masters who passed the examination at the end of training earned the right to receive a certificate of success from the MSGSÜ Continuing Education Center.

Within the "Value for Tomorrow" framework, the "Value in Learning" project aims to educate primary school students, teachers, administrators and parents about color, space utilization, heat and light elements.

The first step of the "Value in Learning" project was establishing an advisory board composed of academics from the Architecture Faculty and Education Sciences Department of Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University. Training content providing information about color, space utilization, heat and light elements was prepared by this board. Within the project scope, training was provided to school administrators, classroom teachers and school-family association members. During the 2015-2016 and 2016-2017 academic years, a total of 84 schools were reached, involving 1,358 teachers, 33,520 students and approximately 70,000 parents. In the 2017-2018 period, 8,483 students in 4 provinces were educated on space, color, heat and light topics. This brought the number of students reached over three years to over 42,000. Within the framework of the "Value in Schools" project, a school painting and paint application standards guide was developed. Within this scope, a working group created through cooperation between Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University and DYO, with contributions from the Ministry of National Education, identified school types in 10 provinces representing different geographic, climate and settlement conditions across Turkey, and developed appropriate school painting and paint application recommendations. In accordance with this guide prepared for all schools under the Ministry of National Education, model school painting applications were carried out by masters who had participated in academic training. DYO conducted model implementations in 10 provinces and 10 schools under the "Value in Schools" "school painting and paint application standards" guide.
