Doğan Holding has decided to transfer its entire stake in Ditaş to BDY Group İnşaat A.Ş. Share transfer transactions will be completed following the conclusion of all legal procedures.
Doğan Holding continues to transform its portfolio with the goal of creating a dynamic and streamlined portfolio. In this context, the holding has decided to transfer all of its 68.24% stake in publicly listed Ditaş Doğan Yedek Parça İmalat ve Teknik A.Ş., one of Turkey's largest original spare parts manufacturers with annual production capacity of 7.8 million units, to BDY Group İnşaat A.Ş. The sale and transfer of Doğan Holding's shares will be completed following approval by the Competition Board.
Founded in 1972, Ditaş produces more than 7 million units annually in vehicle chassis component parts such as tie rod ends, tie rods, tie rod sleeves, suspension arms, drag links, stabilizer arms and V-drag links, supplying products to both Turkish and global automotive markets. Recently, Ditaş expanded its operations to include sheet metal parts, stamping dies, hot and cold forging parts and pipe production for the automotive industry.
Sharing his views on the matter, Doğan Holding CEO Çağlar Göğüş stated, "As Doğan Holding, we are continuing our efforts to create a focused and streamlined portfolio. In this context, while we continue to deepen and grow in our core sectors, which we view as our cornerstones, we are divesting from areas where we believe we will grow with investors who have different investment approaches and focus. In this regard, following BDY Group, one of Turkey's major investment groups, showing interest in Ditaş, which has been part of our Group since 1990, we have reached an agreement to transfer our entire stake in Ditaş."
Noting that Ditaş holds an important position for the country's economy, Göğüş emphasized that the company will continue to grow with its new investor, stating, "Ditaş is a strong brand born from these lands with a long and successful history spanning over 50 years. It meets 80% of Turkey's commercial vehicle tie rod demand and 15% of passenger vehicle demand. Thanks to its integrated manufacturing facility and strong research and development efforts, it is able to respond quickly to changing customer and market expectations. With its advanced test center that simulates field conditions, modern and new machinery, and flexible production processes, it is an important solution partner for domestic and foreign manufacturers. With this profile, we believe that Ditaş, which holds an important position in both Niğde and Turkey's economy, will further strengthen its position in the sector with BDY Group's focused investment approach. We wish this agreement to be beneficial for the automotive sector and the business world."
