Senior Appointment at Danone Türkiye

Şirin Aktaş has been appointed as Director of IT & Data for Danone Turkey, Central Asia, Caucasus and Iran, and will lead digitalization and IT processes.

Danone, which has been operating for over 100 years globally and nearly 40 years in Turkey with the mission of "bringing health to as many people as possible through food," has appointed Şirin Aktaş, who has over 25 years of experience in technology management, data strategies and digital transformation, to the position of Director of IT & Data for Danone Turkey, Central Asia, Caucasus and Iran.

Aktaş, a graduate of the Computer Science Engineering department at Hacettepe University who subsequently completed her master's degree in the same field at Istanbul Technical University, is pursuing her doctorate at Özyeğin University in the area of Technology, Society and Design.

Şirin Aktaş began her career in 2000 as a Network Engineer at Garanti Technology, and later served as a Pre-Sales Support Specialist and Project and Technical Unit Manager at Koç.Net. Between 2008 and 2013, she held various positions at Turkcell, including Director of IT Service Management Solutions. In 2013, she joined Unilever as an IT Manager and, after holding various roles within the company, was appointed as Geography IT Director responsible for Turkey, Central Asia and Iran. Between 2019 and 2021, she also took on the responsibility of Digital Council Leadership in addition to her current role. Since August 2021, she has been serving as CIO & Board Member at Edenred.

Şirin Aktaş will guide digitalization and IT processes as Director of IT & Data for Danone Turkey, Central Asia, Caucasus and Iran, drawing on the strong leadership experience and expertise she has gained across different countries and positions throughout her 25-year career in information technology.
