Covid-19 Vaccines Added to Import Conformity Inspection List

The Ministry of Trade's "Notification on Amendments to the Notification on Import Inspection of Certain Products Supervised by the Ministry of Health" was published in the Official Gazette and entered into force. Accordingly, COVID-19 vaccines related to SARS that will be applied to the human body will be inspected for conformity in terms of human health and safety.

Environmental Permit Certificate required for rubber and rubber product waste imports

Additionally, the Ministry's "Notification on Amendments to the Notification on Import Inspection of Waste Controlled from the Perspective of Environmental Protection" was also published in the Official Gazette and entered into force. Within the scope of the notification, for the import of rubber and rubber product waste, if there is an analysis certificate obtained from the country of origin showing the characteristics that these substances are unvulcanized rubber compound, a "Temporary Operating Certificate" or "Environmental Permit and License Certificate" will not be required, but an Environmental Permit Certificate regarding air emissions will be required. In the import of these substances as unvulcanized rubber compound, the importer or representative shall submit the original and translated copy of the analysis certificate obtained from the country of origin showing the characteristics that the product is unvulcanized rubber compound, along with the Environmental Permit Certificate regarding air emissions at the time of application. No document shall be required for the import of polystyrene material in its initial form, which is declared by the importer to be non-waste and a new product.
