Chemetall® to Open New Laboratory in Querétaro, Mexico
BASF's Coatings division's Surface Treatment global business unit, operating under the Chemetall brand, is opening a new state-of-the-art laboratory at its 38,700 square-meter production and office facility in Querétaro, Mexico.
The new facility is joining a globally leading technical laboratory network with the aim of providing direct customer support and continuous innovation. Highly trained, dedicated experienced personnel are using advanced process techniques in modern and accredited facilities.
This new laboratory will facilitate the latest simulation and product development and will further strengthen Chemetall's position as a preferred global supplier in the surface treatment industry. Ernesto Osorno, General Manager of Chemetall Mexicana, said: "This facility is of great importance in terms of being close to our valued customers and effectively meeting their needs. Our response time to customers in the region will benefit from localized value-added services."
Laboratory capabilities include analytical, application and corrosion services. The analytical laboratory will provide customer support, solutions and surface analysis, QC support, metal processing cooling fluid management, Inductively Coupled Plasma (ICP), Ion Chromatography (IC), Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM).
Niton X-Ray Fluorescence, Automatic Titrator and Microtap Application services will provide process simulations using spray washers, immersion tanks and spray paint booth processes. The corrosion laboratory will offer salt spray, paint and film testing, cyclic testing, humidity testing and more.
