Raise Awareness for Cerebral Palsy

Cerebral Palsy is a physical disability that occurs when the developing brain suffers damage in the prenatal, birth or postnatal period, and is the most common physical disability in infancy and childhood. Nigar Evgin, General Director of Türkiye Spastik Çocuklar Vakfı, noted that more than 6,000 babies are diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy each year in Turkey and made the following comments on the matter: "There are 17 million individuals with Cerebral Palsy globally. In addition to rehabilitation and educational support provided to improve the quality of life of these individuals, October 6 is marked as World Cerebral Palsy Awareness Day to emphasize the importance of early diagnosis. As a Foundation that has served children and adults with Cerebral Palsy for 51 years, alongside our work throughout the year, we organize various awareness-raising activities and projects during October. This year, on October 6, under the slogan "There are #CountlessReasons to Raise Awareness," we are calling on people to "turn on green lights," "turn logos green," and "wear green." Institutions wishing to be part of awareness efforts can illuminate their buildings in green, transform their logos to green specifically for October 6, and encourage their staff to wear green on this occasion. Individuals can also support this awareness movement by wearing green clothing or green accessories." Those wishing to support awareness efforts can share content on social media using the hashtags #CountlessReasons and #worldcpday, helping to reach broader audiences with this message.
