Ahmet Türkoğlu Appointed CEO of Cengiz Enerji

A senior appointment has taken place at Cengiz Enerji, one of Türkiye's leading companies in the energy sector. Ahmet Türkoğlu, who has more than 27 years of experience in the energy sector, took office as the company's CEO effective 3 November 2025.
A senior management appointment has been made at Cengiz Enerji, one of Turkey's leading energy sector organizations. Ahmet Türkoğlu, who brings over 27 years of experience in the energy sector, assumed his position as CEO of the company as of 3 November 2025.
Ahmet Türkoğlu, with over 27 years of experience in the energy sector, has become the new CEO of Cengiz Enerji, one of Turkey's leading energy organizations. Throughout his career, Türkoğlu has held management positions across various areas of the energy sector, ranging from oil and natural gas exploration and production activities to the structuring of electricity and gas markets, the development of renewable energy certificate systems, and carbon trading infrastructure. Most recently, Türkoğlu worked as Chairman and General Manager of Turkish Petroleum Corporation (TPAO), where he was responsible for managing operations in onshore and offshore areas in Turkey as well as international projects conducted in countries such as Iraq, Azerbaijan, Somalia, Russia, Colombia, and Pakistan. During this period he managed an annual investment and operating budget of USD 8 billion.
Serving as CEO at EPİAŞ – Energy Markets Operation Inc. between 2018 and 2024, Türkoğlu played an active role in establishing Turkey's spot gas market, forward electricity and gas markets, the renewable energy certificate system YEK-G, and national carbon trading infrastructure. He was also elected to the Board of Directors of the European Energy Exchanges Association (EUROPEX), representing Turkey on the international platform.
Türkoğlu is a graduate of Boğaziçi University's Department of Political Science and International Relations and completed his Executive MBA at the same university. In his new role, he will lead Cengiz Enerji's production, investment, and sustainable growth strategies.
Cengiz Enerji, one of Turkey's leading private sector energy investors, contributes to national energy supply security with a total installed capacity of 5,220.69 MW. Of its portfolio, 3,229.76 MW is based on renewable energy sources and operates through hydroelectric, solar, wind, and natural gas combined cycle power plants. The company also pursues energy generation and investment projects abroad.
