CALL Energy, YEO Teknoloji's subsidiary in renewable energy investments, is implementing a major project as part of its growth strategy in Africa. The company has completed the financing process for a 60 MWp solar power plant (SPP) and a 20 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) to be built in Zambia, and has begun field work.

CALL Energy, a renewable energy investment subsidiary of YEO Teknoloji, is implementing a major project as part of its growth strategy in Africa. The company has completed the financing process for a 60 MWp solar power plant (SPP) and 20 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) investment to be built in Zambia and has commenced field operations.

The project, which carries an investment value of approximately USD 60 million, is being financed with support from local financial institutions in Zambia. Electricity generated under the project will be sold to ZESCO, the country's national energy company, with a 20-year USD-denominated purchase guarantee. This structure will provide long-term revenue visibility to the project while contributing to Zambia's energy supply security.

First Large-Scale Investment in Africa
The project, which marks CALL Energy's first investment in Africa, exemplifies an important case of the integrated business model that brings together the company's investor identity with YEO Teknoloji's engineering, procurement and installation capabilities under one roof.

Project development activities, engineering work, procurement processes, energy storage system integration, and all key turnkey construction work including high-voltage transformer centre will be conducted by YEO Teknoloji. Thus, all processes from project development to operation will be managed with the expertise of group companies.

Batteries Manufactured in Istanbul to be Exported to Africa
The energy storage systems to be used in the project will be supplied by Reap Battery, YEO Teknoloji's battery manufacturing company operating in Istanbul. In this way, advanced technology energy storage solutions developed and manufactured in Turkey will be utilized in strategic energy projects in Africa.

"Our 2030 Target: 1 GW of Operating Capacity"
Sacit Akbaş, CEO of CALL Energy, commented on the company's growth strategy as follows:

"As CALL Energy, we aim to reach 1 GW of operating capacity by 2030. In line with this target, we are diversifying our portfolio both technologically and geographically. Africa is leading among our strategic growth regions with its high solar energy potential and rapidly increasing energy needs. By combining renewable energy generation with energy storage solutions, we will continue to create sustainable, reliable and long-term value."

The Zambia project stands out as an important milestone supporting CALL Energy's expansion of its international investment portfolio while also backing the YEO Teknoloji Group's global growth strategy in renewable energy, energy storage and engineering.
