BTM Holds First Sahne XL Event of the Year

BTM Held Its First Sahne XL Event of the Year Speaking at BTM's first Sahne XL event of the year, Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (İTO) Chairman Şekib Avdagiç stated: "We have no intention of merely producing Turcorn at BTM. Our goal is to make this center the birthplace of all young ventures that will contribute to our country's development." The Commercialization of Knowledge Center (BTM), established by the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (İTO) to support ventures and serving as a hub for next-generation investment discourse, held its first Sahne XL event of the year in hybrid format. The opening remarks of the event, held at the Center's Fulya campus, were delivered by Istanbul Chamber of Commerce Chairman Şekib Avdagiç. Noting that BTM entrepreneurs would present their ventures at Sahne XL, Avdagiç said: "This is a joyful occasion for us. We experience the same joy as a farmer who sees the harvest of seeds planted in his field months later. God willing, we will make this event larger and global in scale, and bring more of our entrepreneurs and investors together on our stage. Over the past 4 years, we have undertaken significant and major undertakings. We increased the number of our entrepreneurs and matched their new ideas with investment. Without any exaggeration, we have permanently placed the 'idea of commercializing knowledge' on the Turkish public agenda. Our slogan at BTM's fifth birthday reflects these achievements. Istanbul is the world's, BTM is the center of enterprise."

Traditional investment tools are falling out of favor

Highlighting how Turkey's new generation of brands have attracted major global investments, Sekib Avdagiç stated: "Traditional investment tools are falling out of favor. While investing in real estate is becoming 'out', investing in games, shopping platforms and similar business areas that capture the interest of children and young people has become 'in'. Today, we proudly say that BTM is one of the pioneers of this changing and digitalizing world in our country. We have no intention of merely producing Turcorn from the Commercialization of Knowledge Center. Our goal is to make this center the birthplace of all young ventures that will contribute to our country's development. Over the past 5 years, the valuation of BTM ventures has increased 395-fold. BTM's physical capacity has grown six-fold, and the number of programs within it has risen to seven. More importantly, we have provided and continue to provide support to entrepreneurs ranging in age from 18 to 78."

Total investment valuation of BTM ventures reached TRY 1.5 billion

BTM General Manager İbrahim Elbaşı, noting that they celebrated their fifth birthday with the slogan 'Center of Enterprise' because they house all possible mechanisms related to entrepreneurship, stated: "As BTM, I would like to give you a brief summary of how we spent the first 6 months of this year. With the investments made in the first 6 months of 2022, the total investment valuation of BTM ventures reached TRY 1.5 billion, and the total sales volume of our ventures reached TRY 93.5 million. While we had the opportunity to serve nearly 1,000 entrepreneurs in the first 6 months, we also launched the Investor Acceleration Program, an investor development program for early-stage ventures with support from the Istanbul Development Agency during these same 6 months. This program, which has seen far greater demand than expected and from which we recently graduated our first cohort, graduated 109 business people as startup investors." Elbaşı concluded by saying: "I would like to express my gratitude to our esteemed Chairman Şekib Avdagiç and his administration for enabling us to develop and implement empathetic processes for entrepreneurs, for standing by not only us but also the concerns of our entrepreneurs, and for acting as fellow travelers. I also extend my thanks to the BTM team and all personnel of the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce."

A total of 14 entrepreneurs made presentations

The Sahne XL event was moderated by technology writer and programmer Ahmet Can Şit. Levent Erden, serving as Keynote Speaker at the event, delivered a presentation titled "Resilience to Speed: The Need to Be Resilient to Speed, Not Time. Agility Actually Means Mastering Speed." The event, organized in two sessions with 7 entrepreneurs presenting in the first part and 7 in the second, saw a total of 14 ventures presented.

The presenting ventures are as follows:

Alter8: A housing network comprising temporary, smart and micro-scale living units for young adults who prefer a dynamic lifestyle. Playtrick: A game company that develops hit games worldwide and aims to bring fun times into people's lives. Hiperaktif Kredi: A fintech company offering smart credit solutions for accurate risk prediction. MUSIWARS: Turkey's first and only digital marketplace for songwriters and music producers in the global context, as well as a talent management platform. Ocalis: Develops exoskeleton systems that prevent or delay musculoskeletal diseases in workers performing repetitive tasks. Liquid Assets: An application that allows you to monitor personal cash savings in one place, track current market prices, and receive instant price alerts about market movements. Postuby: A platform that eliminates the problem of what to share on social media by providing subscribers with ready-to-share content with artificial intelligence support. Co-Influencer: A digital organic content production platform that connects brands with the most suitable Nano and Micro influencers for their products and services. Yuppy Games: Develops high-quality mobile games by combining technology and production.
