Brand Finance Announces Most Valuable Chemical Brands
Brand Finance announced the strongest chemistry brands in -Brand Finance Chemicals 2020- with a list featuring 25 brands.
German BASF, according to the leading independent brand valuation consultancy Brand Finance, is defending its title as the world's most valuable chemicals brand. Despite a 5% value loss since 2019, the brand topped the latest iteration of Brand Finance Chemicals 25 2020 ranking, the annual classification of the sector's most valuable brands. Despite the decline caused by the overall slowdown in the chemical industry, BASF is valued at USD 7.9 billion.
Last year, in line with BASF's sustainable brand ethics, the company is expanding its business efforts in Asia-Pacific, focusing on the development of agricultural solutions in the region and promoting climate-friendly farming methods. It was recently announced that the company plans to invest USD 45 million to establish a production facility in Tuas, Singapore.
Savio D'Souza, Valuation Director at Brand Finance, stated:
"BASF's superiority is twofold: on one hand, it is the result of a realignment focused on customer proximity, competitiveness and profitable growth, and on the other hand, it is the result of the weaknesses of competitors as Dow and DuPont restructured their capabilities last year through a division."
