BIO-Scouting Project Launched

Sanofi has launched the BIO-Scouting project to identify ideas that will add value to life sciences and healthcare in Turkey and convert them into economic value. Applications for the BIO-Scouting project, conducted under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Uğur Sezerman, Head of the Department of Biostatistics and Medical Informatics at Acıbadem Mehmet Ali Aydınlar University, will be accepted until 17 January 2020. Under the project led by Prof. Dr. Uğur Sezerman, Head of the Department of Biostatistics and Medical Informatics at Acıbadem Mehmet Ali Aydınlar University, pharmaceutical or technology development projects from Turkey's leading technology parks and universities, together with contributions from Sanofi Turkey and global teams, will be evaluated based on the value they will bring to life sciences and healthcare. Through the BIO-Scouting framework and the open innovation method, the distance problem between Sanofi's R&D centers in France and high value-added academic projects developed in Turkey will be eliminated, making it possible for them to forge stronger partnerships. Prof. Dr. Uğur Sezerman said: "We are at an exciting stage in our project aimed at converting projects developed in our country into world-class biotechnology products. Following our call, we have so far received 36 projects from universities and 27 from technology park companies, and we have conducted one-on-one meetings with the teams of 12 projects to date. At this stage alone, we as a team have found and been impressed by quite remarkable projects. While the project contributes to increasing the credibility that the Turkish scientific community deserves on a global platform, we aim to draw the attention of global players in the healthcare sector to Turkey." he said.
