Keynote speakers from government, IT, academia and business concluded the IT Summit. Dr. Hakan Yurdakul, Member of the Presidential Council of Economic Policies, Deputy Minister of Health Huzeyfe Yılmaz and Deputy Minister of Industry and Technology Zekeriya Çoştu delivered speeches. Deputy Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure Dr. Ömer Fatih Sayan conveyed his remarks via video message. In his address, Deputy Minister Çoştu emphasized Turkey's strength in the IT sector and stated that they are focused on the goal of producing technology with 100,000 qualified R&D personnel. Expressing that the public sector sees IT as a driving force, Çoştu said, "We are implementing projects such as promoting cloud computing applications, increasing data center capacity and accelerating artificial intelligence work. We believe that technological production is a priority element in strengthening our country in the new century. In this direction, Turkey must secure its place in the global technology race and we must evaluate this potential together," he said. The 23rd IT Summit, held annually to determine and develop the roadmap for technology and IT, which have become essential for individuals, companies and nations, concluded. The summit, which addressed artificial intelligence technologies that mimic human intelligence and all related key technology topics, shed light on the simple resolution of complex problems in business and the clarification of mysteries. This year's summit, organized under the theme "Enigma" inspired by the significance of the number "23" in IT history, covered topics including "Generative Artificial Intelligence," "Digital Business Processes, RPA and Artificial Intelligence," "Security and Sustainability" as well as Cloud Technologies, IoT and Big Data, Security Technologies, Software and e-Commerce, Healthcare Technology, and Domestic and National Technology. Dr. Hakan Yurdakul, Member of the Presidential Council of Economic Policies, Deputy Minister of Health Huzeyfe Yılmaz, Deputy Minister of Industry and Technology Zekeriya Çoştu and numerous industry professionals served as speakers in the opening session, while Deputy Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure Dr. Ömer Fatih Sayan conveyed his remarks via video message.
"At IT Summit '24 we will discuss technology efficiency with the theme 'Efficiency'"
The opening program of the summit began with remarks by Murat Göçe, Chairman of BThaber. Expressing gratitude for the strong interest shown in IT Summit '23, Göçe announced the theme and date of the IT Summit to be held in 2024; "Today, I am delighted to host you at our event, which brings us together for the 23rd time. Now, let us turn our eyes to the future and consider what we will focus on at next year's IT Summit. Technologies are rapidly integrating into our lives and we are trying to understand these developments in detail. However, if we cannot make good use of the innovations brought by these technologies, how confident can we be about the results we may face in the future? We will reflect on and discuss this question together next year. The main theme of IT Summit '24 will be 'Efficiency.' This word means effectiveness, efficiency and productivity. At our summit, which we will hold on 24 October 2024, we will discuss how we can use technology in the most effective and efficient way by placing this title at the center," he said.
Deputy Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure Dr. Ömer Fatih Sayan made important statements.
Emphasizing the importance of producing high-technology products domestically using national resources within the framework of the national technology initiative vision, Sayan said, "Technology production is of critical importance for the future of nations. As Turkey, we are acting with the goal of becoming not just a user but a producer of technology. With our efforts progressing in a manner befitting the 100th anniversary of the Republic, we continue our determination to transform our country into a high-technology production hub. Turkey's 100 years will be the 100 years of digitalization and we are proceeding with determination to achieve this goal," he stated.   "As a ministry, we will implement a new health data platform" Deputy Minister of Health Huzeyfe Yılmaz, in his speech titled "Healthcare Technology," stated the following: "The Ministry of Health is one of the most effectively digitalized ministries in the public sector. Our systems such as e-Health and the central physician appointment system are recognized worldwide. Of course, to make a difference globally, we need to do more. As the Ministry of Health, we have an extensive data repository. We have data covering everything from birth to death. We cannot open public data to the outside, but our main goal is to focus on work that can be carried out with artificial intelligence by using this data. Healthcare is truly an area where you can make a difference, so we have concentrated all our efforts there. We already have work such as personalized medicine, but we will also implement a new health data platform. By running algorithms with synthetic data and extracting meaning from data within a closed system, we will aim to obtain results. We aim to provide these services in the near future and we intend to take significant steps in this regard."
