Bilim Üsküdar Opens for Service

Science Üsküdar Opens to the Public New projects bringing science and scientific research together are being added in Üsküdar. Within this scope, new phases have been added to the Science Üsküdar Centre developed by Üsküdar Municipality. The opening of the Technologies in the Sky and Beyond National Technologies and Blue Planet exhibitions added to Science Üsküdar was conducted by Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Murat Kurum, Baykar Board Chairman and Technology Leader Selçuk Bayraktar, and Üsküdar Mayor Hilmi Türkmen. Vice Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır and Tubitak President Hasan Mandal also attended the opening. Speaking at the Science Üsküdar opening, Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Murat Kurum said: "Our T3 Foundation President Selçuk Bayraktar, who produces our UAVs, our SHAVs, our Red Apple for this country's future, for our children's future, and always fights to bring our nation to the level of contemporary civilizations by running for our people and our children, is here. Üsküdar Mayor who fights and runs for our Istanbul, and my esteemed rectors are here. When we see our youth here, when we see our future, we are full of hope. We become energized. We take great pleasure. Today, behind me, you see this work—we gift Turkey's most comprehensive science center, our Üsküdar center, to our Istanbul. Our young people and our Üsküdar deserve this. I believe this facility will educate many scientists, our youth, and the children we entrust with our future, and I wish this facility to bring prosperity and blessing to our Üsküdar and its fine people." Minister Murat Kurum said "we will implement many more projects for our youth": "Taking our youth to the top, being able to offer you a better future, making you pioneers of new initiatives, making all of Turkey strong and great. We are working for this ideal. We are running for it. For our children, our children's future, their tomorrows. From education to health, from culture to arts, from technology to employment, from sports to environment and urbanization, we have undertaken thousands of projects and placed them at your service. With each passing day, we are taking much better steps for you and your future. To offer our youth and our children a much better future, we will create 6 million more new jobs. And we will bring our unemployment rate down to 7 percent. My valued brothers and sisters, but are these enough? Of course not. In our Science Üsküdar center, we will contribute to educating each of you as scientists and active participants. Shortly, in different workshops here ranging from space and aviation, from technology to mathematics, from natural sciences to design, our children will receive education." Baykar Board Chairman and Technology Leader Selçuk Bayraktar explained in his speech that everything begins with a dream: "When we set out as the Turkey Technology Team Foundation, we first consulted with our colleagues about what we could do to realize Turkey's national technology initiative. One of the first issues that came to the agenda was the Deneyap project, which is now spread across all 81 provinces of our country and is being carried out by the Ministry of Industry and Technology, Tubitak, and the Ministry of Youth and Sports. In these Deneyap projects, we had the following dream. We dreamed of educating young brothers and sisters here who are self-confident, rooted in the ancient foundations of our civilization, who will create our country's fully independent and prosperous tomorrows. And we even set out with the dream that when our civilization's values of justice, goodness, beauty and morality are blended with high technology, our civilization's voice would gain a stronger breath. Of course, our workshops were established with the purpose of educating our youth, our young brothers and sisters, to raise many future Aziz Sancars, many young people who will leave their mark on the world in high technology. And besides this, our second project was a science center—could we establish a science center, which has many examples worldwide? Of course, our president also mentioned earlier that they had prepared a project. Together with our volunteer colleagues, we dealt with the question of what kind of exhibitions should be held in this center to benefit both Üsküdar and our Istanbul. You know, while today's youth are occupied with somewhat trivial matters, somewhat popular subjects, we were concerned with how we could make them love science and technology more, plant this belief, so that our youth, our young brothers and sisters, grow here and build Turkey's bright future. We started working. The first phase of Science Üsküdar, the initial phase. It opened in 2018 with technology workshops. From that day to today, based on what I have learned from my team colleagues and the information I received from our president, more than 550,000 young brothers and sisters have received education in the technology workshops here. Now these trainings may not show results immediately today, but just as in our unmanned aerial vehicle struggle—that is, you work for twenty years. Perhaps after those twenty years you become a world leader. Now the whole world acknowledges this, but on the other hand, something else has emerged. You look and see that in Turkey, in just twenty years, not only unmanned aerial vehicles but many different projects in particular defense industry fields have been born. Of course, the most important matter here is continuous effort and determination."
