Berko Pharma was awarded the "Most Successful Corporate Social Responsibility Project of the Year" for its "Caps for Good" project at the 12th edition of the "Social Responsibility Awards in Healthcare." At the ceremony organised by Health Volunteers Turkey and hospitalmanager Magazine, awards were presented to individuals and organisations selected by a jury composed of leading names in healthcare management in Turkey. Eylem Beran, Board Member and Corporate Communications Director of Berko Pharma, and Semra Çetinkaya, Deputy Chair of the Turkish Spinal Cord Injury Association (TODF), received the award on behalf of Berko Pharma. Eylem Beran said: "It is very gratifying to be present at a platform where such respected academics and healthcare managers come together and receive awards, and to be deemed worthy of an award. As Berko Pharma, I believe we have elevated the perception of corporate social responsibility among pharmaceutical companies through the social responsibility projects we have implemented. Receiving this award together with the Turkish Spinal Cord Injury Association is particularly honourable. We thank everyone very much." Berko Pharma has been supporting the "Caps for Good" campaign successfully conducted by TODF (Turkish Spinal Cord Injury Association) for two years. Last year, Berko Pharma placed 350 plastic cap collection boxes at key locations in hospitals and family health centres across Istanbul. This year, the company placed 150 plastic cap collection boxes in hospitals and family health centres across Turkey. Since 2011, the Turkish Spinal Cord Injury Association has been running the "Caps for Good" plastic cap collection campaign to enable individuals with orthopaedic disabilities to participate actively in social life. Through the campaign, collected plastic caps are used to purchase motorised and manual wheelchairs for orthopaedic disabled citizens who apply to the association. To date, Berko Pharma has contributed to the collection of 1 tonne of plastic caps and the purchase of 4 manual wheelchairs through the project.
