Bayer and YGA Launch “Meet with Science” Project

Bayer and YGA launched "Discover with Science," a new corporate social responsibility initiative. Announced at the YGA Summit 2021, the project by Bayer and YGA aims to contribute to the development of science and scientific literacy, and to open new horizons in the educational lives of high school students in grades 10 and 11 across Turkey. At the core of the project are young people who are aware of the needs and problems of the society they live in and are sensitive to their surroundings. The objective is for youth to develop themselves and learn to produce innovative solutions to local problems based on science. All high school students applying to the program will have the opportunity to develop themselves through an online curriculum specially prepared for them. Following a performance-based selection process, 150 students will be evaluated through online interviews, and 25 students will be eligible to participate in the main program. Students selected for the main program will meet their team members and mentors, with whom they will work throughout the year at the 101 Camp starting in April. During the program, students will receive training from entrepreneurs, scientists, and mentors. They will also contribute to social responsibility projects in their communities for the benefit of society. Students will be divided into groups during a 5-day Summer Camp and will conduct work aligned with Bayer's mission of "Science for a Better Life," based on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals of "Health and Well-Being" and "Zero Hunger." Selected projects will be implemented with Bayer's support. The program will also offer selected high school students internship opportunities at startup companies selected for Bayer's venture acceleration program G4A Turkey and at YGA Ventures.
