Turkish Cement Manufacturers Association (TÇMB) CEO İsmail Bulut: "More than 4,000 people lose their lives in fires each year in the European Union." At Izmir Institute of Technology, METU Civil Engineering Department Head Prof. Dr. İsmail Özgür Yaman Explained Concrete Roads.

Organized by Batıçim and also attended by TÇMB, the Izmir Institute of Technology "Concrete Roads Seminar" was attended by approximately 200 people.

At the seminar, Batıçim Western Anatolia Cement Industry A.Ş. Deputy General Manager Feyyaz Ünal delivered the opening remarks and subsequently presented on "Concrete Roads and Their Advantages". Ünal explained the use and advantages of concrete roads in the world and in Turkey.

METU Civil Engineering Department Head Prof. Dr. İsmail Özgür Yaman emphasized the advantages of Roller Compacted Concrete Pavements in his presentation titled "Why Concrete Roads".

Turkish Cement Manufacturers Association (TÇMB) CEO İsmail Bulut, who delivered the closing remarks, discussed the role of porous concrete use in preventing urban flooding and fire safety.

Stating that concrete is an important and indispensable building material for safety, Bulut noted that the use of concrete in buildings prevents loss of life in fire safety. Bulut continued his remarks with, "In the European Union, more than 4,000 people lose their lives in fires each year.

80% of these fires occur in people's own homes. 94% of fires originate from building structures. In Turkey, the number of people who lose their lives in fires in their homes is 600 per year.

As can be understood from this, the concrete structure of buildings is an important factor for safety," he continued his remarks. Bulut concluded by saying: "Thanks to the more widespread use of concrete in buildings in our country compared to Europe, the number of fires causing loss of life due to materials is lower."
