BASF Holds Carbon-Neutral Eco-Friendly Picnic
BASF, the world's leading chemical company, once again implemented a "Carbon Neutral" practice for a sustainable future at this year's picnic attended by employees and their families.
BASF held a carbon-neutral picnic this year with employees and their families to advance a sustainable future.
At the carbon-neutral picnic attended by 407 participants, the carbon footprint generated was calculated at 62.58 tons CO2e and neutralized.
BASF, a global chemical industry leader that approaches sustainability through economic, environmental and social responsibility and aligns all business processes with sustainability targets, continues to contribute to a sustainable future through its events.
In line with this approach, the picnic held in Polonezköy with participation from BASF employees and their families was organized this year as a carbon-neutral event to support sustainable development.
At the picnic attended by over 400 participants, the carbon footprint generated from transportation to the venue, food and all activities during entertainment was calculated as 62.58 tons CO2e and neutralized. In this way, the BASF family contributed to a sustainable future while enjoying themselves.
Buğra Kavuncu, BASF Turkey CEO, hosted the event, where employees enjoyed themselves with their families and children. Kavuncu said, "For us, not only our employees but also their families are valuable. We are a large family because of this. Behind our success is the effort and dedication of all BASF employees and their families."
Noting that BASF draws attention with its sustainability efforts worldwide, Kavuncu said, "As we started last year, we are organizing our events as carbon-neutral. This year, with the picnic we held, we calculated and neutralized the carbon footprint generated.
In the coming years, we plan to continue organizing our events as carbon-neutral with the goal of reducing our carbon footprint."
