BASF Announces Leadership Change in Turkey Chemicals Business

An important leadership change has taken place at BASF Türk Kimya. Tolga Demirözü, who has served as General Manager of BASF Türk since 1 May 2022, handed over the role to Oğuz Bayrak effective 1 December 2025.
BASF Türk Kimya has undergone an important leadership transition. Tolga Demirözü, who has served as General Manager of BASF Türk since 1 May 2022, handed over his position to Oğuz Bayrak effective 1 December 2025.
During his tenure, Demirözü led successful initiatives that strengthened BASF's focus on sustainable impact across the company's Turkish group entities. Through his active roles in Turkey's leading business and industry associations, he increased BASF's public visibility and pioneered numerous initiatives contributing to the country's development.
New General Manager Oğuz Bayrak has assumed the positions of General Manager of BASF Türk and General Manager of BASF Innovation Technology Centre, effective 1 December 2025, in addition to his current responsibilities. With approximately 30 years of industry experience, Bayrak will continue to add value to the company's regional and strategic objectives through his leadership experience and broad expertise.
Bayrak completed his primary and secondary education in Germany and began his chemical engineering career in the cosmetics sector. He subsequently held R&D-focused positions in France and Turkey. In 2011, he moved into sales within the Home Care, Institutional and Industrial Cleaning division under BASF Türk Kimya, assuming significant responsibilities in marketing, product management, local production projects and various business unit activities.
Since 2020, Bayrak has served as manager of the Home Care, Institutional and Industrial Cleaning and Industrial Formulators business unit, participating in projects serving diverse industries. Since January 2025, he has held the position of Regional Director responsible for Turkey, the Middle East and Central Asia.
