Digital Bridge in Baku: Azerbaijan and Turkey Strengthen Cooperation in ICT

Innovation and Digital Development Agency (İRİA), Turkey Information Industry Association (TÜBİSAD) and Sistem Global, in cooperation, organized the "Azerbaijan – Turkey Business Forum: Digital Transformation and Technology Bridge" in Baku on 11 February 2026, bringing together the technology and digital transformation ecosystems of both countries.

The "Azerbaijan – Turkey Business Forum: Digital Transformation and Technology Bridge" was held in Baku on 11 February 2026 through cooperation between the Innovation and Digital Development Agency (İRİA), Turkey Information Industry Association (TÜBİSAD) and Sistem Global. The event was organized to strengthen strategic cooperation between Azerbaijan and Turkey in the fields of ICT and digital transformation, and to contribute to the development of results-oriented and sustainable partnerships between the technology ecosystems, business communities and public institutions of both countries. Approximately 40 ICT companies from Turkey and Azerbaijan, as well as representatives of public institutions from both countries, participated in the event.

In remarks on the matter, Samir Memmedov, Deputy Minister of Digital Development and Transport of the Republic of Azerbaijan, stated: "Azerbaijan and Turkey are countries that take a strategic approach to digital development at state level. Both countries view digital technology as one of the fundamental pillars of economic growth, efficiency in public administration and a competitive business environment. Through this forum, companies and institutions can develop results-oriented business partnerships and further increase existing potential."

Additionally, in the official section of the forum, Birol Akgün, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Turkey to Azerbaijan, Mehmet Ali Tombalak, Chairman of the TÜBİSAD Board of Directors, Salar İmaməliyev, Chief Commercial Officer of İRİA, and Hüseyin Karslıoğlu, Chairman of the Sistem Global Board of Directors, provided assessments regarding the potential of strengthened ICT cooperation between Azerbaijan and Turkey.

Panel sessions organized within the scope of the forum also addressed the technology and innovation ecosystems of Azerbaijan and Turkey. Experts exchanged views on topics including digital transformation, GovTech applications, artificial intelligence, smart cities and development of human capital in the ICT sector.
In the second part of the forum, B2B and B2G meeting sessions were organized with the participation of Turkish and Azerbaijani companies as well as public institutions. Within the scope of these sessions, potential areas of cooperation were evaluated in line with technological solutions and innovative approaches in the public and private sectors; investment, start-up ecosystem and financing and development opportunities for technology companies were discussed.
