Axalta Expands Industrial Product Line with Durable Protective Epoxy Primer

Axalta Coatings Systems is adding Corlar® LV PR 178 Series Epoxy Primer to its innovative coatings product portfolio for the industrial market. Corlar LV PR 178 Epoxy Primer is designed to deliver exceptional adhesion and outstanding corrosion resistance on properly prepared surfaces in oil refineries, offshore platforms, construction equipment, metal fabrication and machinery in the oil and gas industry. Corlar LV PR 178 is formulated at a low volatile organic compound (VOC) level of 0.8 lbs/gal (100 g/l). It contains no HAPS or BPA, making it suitable for customers seeking an environmentally conscious primer solution. When applied under Corlar epoxy or Imron® polyurethane topcoats, Corlar LV PR 178 provides exceptional adhesion properties and long-term protection for industrial applications. The new primer is recommended for both interior and exterior use, making it an extremely durable option for above-water exposure conditions on steel, wood, concrete and aluminum surfaces.
