Arkem Chemicals Launches New Storage Facility with $18 Million Investment

Arkem Chemicals, a leading company in the chemical raw materials supply sector, has continued to contribute to the economy through continuous investments since 1991.
The company completed an 18 million dollar investment at Altıntel Liman ve Terminal İşletmeleri A.Ş. in early November 2024. The new facility brought into operation a liquid chemical storage tank with 20,000 cubic meter capacity resistant to 9-degree earthquakes, a modern filling unit and a heating center.
Starting from early September, Arkem Chemicals is producing Ethyl Acetate at a rate of 50 metric tons daily and 16,000 metric tons annually through a contract manufacturing model in İzmir Kemalpaşa.
Meanwhile, the company's new facility investment on land purchased at Kocaeli Alikahya Organized Industrial Zone continues. The new facility, to be established under the name "Arkem Esters Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş.", is scheduled to commence production on 1 July 2026. When the facility becomes operational, it will reach an annual production capacity of 75,000 metric tons of Ethyl Acetate and 40,000 metric tons of Butyl Acetate.
In a statement from company officials, it was noted that this investment is an important step towards providing the country, the sector and business partners with stronger, sustainable and competitive infrastructure.
