Arch+Dsgn Summit will take place for the third time this year under the theme "The Future in Architecture and Design" on 5-6 April 2019 at Istanbul Lütfi Kırdar Congress and Exhibition Palace. The summit, which will be held under the main sponsorship of Baumit, will welcome visitors with presentations by leading names in architecture and design sectors within the theme framework, as well as rich content and conferences and panels where current topics will be discussed. At this broad-scope summit bringing together Turkey's architecture and design disciplines, numerous presentations will be made on digital technologies (CAD, CAM, CAE, FM, GIS), immersive environments (VR and AR), computer and human interaction in design, artificial intelligence (AI) in the built environment and design, smart cities and urban modelling. One of the panels at the summit, "What is Required/Necessary to Redefine the Boundaries of Architecture and Design?", will be moderated by Dr. Murat Sönmez, Founder of MRTS Architecture Office. With the participation of Architect Can Tamirci, Founder of Tamirci Architecture, Associate Professor Dr. Derya Güleç Özer, Faculty Member at Yıldız Technical University Department of Architecture, Architect Kutlu İnanç Bal, Co-founder of İkikerebir, and Architect Nilüfer Kozikoğlu, Founder of Urban Atölye, the topic will be examined in all its details for visitors. The "Taking Practice Outside" panel will be held under the moderation of Landscape Architect Enise Burcu Derinboğaz, Founder of Praxis, with the participation of Architect Rahmi Uysalkan, Founder of Uysalkan Architecture and Architect Burak Pelenk, Founder of Buda Architecture. Another panel within the scope of the summit, "The Future in Architecture and Design: Data-Driven Integrated (Design-Produce-Manage) Methods", will be moderated by Professor Dr. Birgül Çolakoğlu, Head of Department of Architecture at Istanbul Technical University, with the participation of Professor Dr. Atilla Dikbaş, Dean of Faculty of Fine Arts, Design and Architecture at Medipol University, Dr. Onur Tokdemir, Faculty Member at METU Civil Engineering Building Operations and Professor Dr. Yusuf Arayıcı, Chairman of BIM4TURKEY Board. Within the scope of the summit, there will also be Mimarka Meetings bringing together Turkey's most successful architecture offices with experienced brands in the field; Pecha Kucha with a 20-second-20-slide concept that will inspire all listeners; Bi'Kahve Conversations where design and creativity are described in the most sincere and spontaneous way despite all difficulties faced; the iF Design Award 2019 "Architectural Projects Winners Exhibition" presenting award-winning architectural and interior design projects in a 200 m² exhibition space, as well as the "Muhafaza-i Metanet: Istanbul's Future in Cartoons" exhibition curated by Associate Professor Dr. Deniz Dokgöz, through which the future perspectives of cartoons allow one to read Istanbul and different historical periods.
