Amgen, which believes that companies will advance through policies based on human rights and diversity foundations and has embedded this understanding into its business strategy, has once again made Forbes' "Best Employers for Women" list. Particularly focused on raising awareness about the added value of women's workforce, Amgen was selected by Forbes as "Best Employer for Women" for two consecutive years. Recognized as one of "America's Best Large Employers," Amgen was also selected in the survey as one of the "Best Employers for Diversity" and one of the "Best Employers for New Graduates." While the pandemic caused many women to change their careers or leave the workforce entirely, the percentage of women employed at Amgen has remained steady at 52% in recent years. Additionally, Amgen's efforts to increase the percentage of women in leadership roles are yielding positive results. In the past year, the percentage of women in senior executive and above positions increased by 8%, and the percentage of women in senior executive/director positions increased by 4%. Women comprise approximately 40% of Amgen's Global Operations Team, which consists of the company's most senior leaders.

Amgen Turkey General Manager Güldem Berkman, noting that Amgen continues to seek new ways to support women employees in all areas, drew attention to the Amgen WE2 – Exceptional Women Leaders program, which is progressing successfully in Turkey as well. Berkman stated, "We place great importance on equality and inclusion. We encourage women's participation in the workforce through policies that will contribute to women's employment. With the 'Amgen Women Empowered to be Exceptional' (WE2) initiative we launched in Turkey, aimed at developing exceptional women leaders, we aim to create a working environment where employees support and develop each other. Through WE2, we provide our colleagues with the necessary environment and support in career development, parenthood and networking. We are working to increase the number of strong women leaders shaping Amgen's future. Through programs conducted with universities, we are pioneering the development of women managers' leadership qualities and their management-level support," he said.

We are proud to be recognized for our work in these areas. The ABLE Employee Resource Group, with more than 700 global members, receives support from all levels. ABLE is an invaluable resource for all our employees who want to understand, accept and overcome challenges." Forbes determined the ranking based on results from an independent survey in which a total of 50,000 employees from companies with at least 1,000 employees in U.S. operations participated. All participants were asked to rate their organizations according to criteria such as working conditions, diversity and likelihood of recommending their employers to others. Female participants were additionally asked to rate their employers in terms of factors such as maternity leave, discrimination and equal pay. Representation at executive and board levels was also included in the final score.
