Investment of EUR 300 Billion in Alternative-Energy Vehicles
Alternative-Energy Vehicles to Receive EUR 300 Billion Investment
İlker İşgör, General Manager of Hager Group Turkey, which operates in 136 countries through 25 factories worldwide, noted that while no one can fully predict what the world will look like in 2030, it is crucial to begin planning innovations now in order to be prepared.
Stating that Hager needs bright talent, experienced practitioners, and honest and knowledgeable colleagues to further strengthen its leading position in the sector, İlker İşgör said: "The doors of Hager Group are therefore wide open to anyone who wants to help shape the future and contribute to a sustainable growth story."
Emphasizing that they are seeking answers to the question "What should we expect from the electrical world in 2030?", İlker İşgör stated: "To properly shape our future, we need to analyze in detail the developments that will take us to 2030. Undoubtedly, the most significant development will be in the field of 'smart mobility'.
Over the next decade, the world's 29 largest automotive manufacturers plan to invest more than EUR 300 billion in the development and production of alternative power systems. As Hager Group, we are also shaping our investments in this direction. Regarding smart charging, by 2030 we will need to update not only vehicle power units, motors, batteries and charging points, but also the buildings that will power them, electrical grids and all related infrastructure," he said.
Pointing out that along with the increase in electricity consumption per household in recent years, transmission and distribution lines, grids and end-distribution panels are already reaching their limits, İlker İşgör stated: "On the road to the electrical world of 2030, we will definitely need renewed and high-capacity electrical panels, distribution systems and digital home networks.
In the world that will emerge by 2030 and will require ever more electrical energy; we, as electricity sector stakeholders and our customers, will need major changes in the solutions we have developed together," he said.
Green Energy Will Change Business Models and Lifestyles
Pointing out that in the early 2000s, wind, solar and hydroelectric energy met only 6 percent of Germany's electricity needs, İşgör said: "At that time, there was broad consensus in European politics and business that the share of renewable energy sources in total energy production reaching 30 percent levels was completely utopian. Today in Germany, renewable energy accounts for more than 45 percent of the total. In our country, renewable sources provide a quarter of our daily consumption. Globally, renewable energy accounts for more than 36 percent of production capacity. Very high growth was seen in renewable energy supply in 2019 and 2020," he said. Referring to the future success of sustainable business models that protect resources and the environment, İlker İşgör continued: "We are proud to contribute to a post-carbon society by promoting circular economy concepts and monitoring the entire life cycle of our products. In the future, we will fulfill this commitment more strongly than ever. With Hager Group's 2030 Project, we have set a clear strategy, laid important foundations for the future and launched numerous projects."Advertisement
