Alışan Lojistik Receives 'OCS Certificate'

Alışan Lojistik has earned the "OCS Certificate" by fulfilling all requirements of Operation Clean Sweep (OCS) programme, which aims to raise awareness in minimising the environmental damage caused by plastic pellet losses. Alışan Lojistik, crowning its 38-year journey with a partnership with global leader PSA BDP, provides services to customers in the chemical industry as well as fast-moving consumer goods, food, agriculture and many other sectors, including international transport, warehouse/storage, bulk dry cargo, bulk liquid and energy transportation, as well as handling dangerous chemicals. Working to create a cleaner and more liveable future by integrating the concept of sustainability into its business practices, Alışan achieved full marks in SQAS (Safety and Quality Assessment for Sustainability). Alışan also fulfilled all requirements of Operation Clean Sweep (OCS) programme, an international initiative launched in 2023 under SQAS that aims to reduce plastic granule losses to the environment by the plastics industry and raise awareness on the matter, and became an OCS certificate holder.

Alışan Lojistik Chief Executive Officer Damla Alışan made the following comments on the subject;

"As Alışan Lojistik, since 2005 we have fully met all measurement requirements and commitments of SQAS (Safety and Quality Assessment for Sustainability). In November 2021, we were inspected for the sixth time and once again demonstrated our high level of expertise, infrastructure and successful working model in the services we provide throughout the entire process from handling chemical substances to their transport and storage. We even scored well above the European average and became one of the system's best practitioners. This year, in addition to our full marks in Storage and Transportation, we have also fulfilled all requirements of Operation Clean Sweep (OCS) initiated under SQAS in 2023 and earned the OCS certificate. OCS means adhering to best practices, implementing systems to reduce plastic granule losses and fulfilling our duty in protecting water resources... This initiative, based on voluntary participation and aimed at raising awareness to minimise the environmental damage caused by plastic pellet losses and creating examples of good practice, is very valuable to us. Being part of OCS is a very important step for leaving cleaner oceans and a cleaner world to the next generation." he said.
