Aksa Enerji's First Privately-Licensed Power Plant Reaches 100,000 Operating Hours Aksa Enerji's Ali Metin Kazancı Antalya Natural Gas Combined Cycle Power Plant has become Turkey's first privately-licensed power plant to reach 100,000 operating hours. According to a company statement, the plant with an installed capacity of 900 megawatts has been in operation since 2008. The Ali Metin Kazancı Antalya Natural Gas Combined Cycle Power Plant has earned the distinction of being Turkey's first privately-licensed power plant to reach 100,000 operating hours. The natural gas combined cycle plant, which has completed comprehensive life extension and modernization work valued at EUR 16 million in preparation for a second 100,000-hour operating cycle, will deliver annual energy savings equivalent to the natural gas consumption of approximately 5 million households through efficiency optimization. In the statement, Cemil Kazancı, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Aksa Enerji, noted that modernization work has increased the plant's power generation efficiency and reduced its carbon footprint, saying: "Through our efficiency-focused life extension and modernization initiatives, carried out with the support of our expert technical team, we will achieve annual energy savings equivalent to the natural gas consumption of approximately 5 million households in power generation.
