Aksa Enerji Commissions Talimercan Natural Gas Combined Cycle Power Plant in Record Time

Aksa Enerji's 430 MW Talimercan Natural Gas Combined Cycle Power Plant, which was brought online in a record seven months, was inaugurated at a grand ceremony attended by Uzbekistan President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Turkey's Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar, who joined remotely. Turkey's Deputy Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Berat Çonkar also participated in the ceremony.

Aksa Enerji, Uzbekistan's largest Turkish investment company, has realized another significant investment for Uzbekistan's energy supply security with the 430 MW Talimercan Natural Gas Combined Cycle Power Plant. Operating three plants with a combined capacity of 790 MW in Tashkent and Bukhara, Aksa Enerji will raise its installed capacity in Uzbekistan to 1,220 MW upon completion of the Talimercan plant. The initial units of the plant, brought online in a record seven months, have already reached a capacity of 352 MW. Work on commissioning all units of the plant is scheduled to be completed in early 2025.

Aksa Enerji Board Chairman and CEO Cemil Kazancı said, "Today, we inaugurated our Talimercan plant, one of the most concrete examples of strong political and economic cooperation between Uzbekistan and Turkey. This project, which we brought online in a record seven months, contributes to Uzbekistan's energy supply security while forming an important part of Aksa Enerji's growth objectives on the international stage. When we reach full capacity with four plants and 1,220 MW capacity in Uzbekistan, we will reinforce our position as the region's largest Turkish investor."

Aksa Enerji's Talimercan Plant was constructed in cooperation with NEGU (National Electric Grid of Uzbekistan), which operates under Uzbekistan's Ministry of Energy. Natural gas required for electricity generation is provided by the Uzbekistan Government, while the generated electricity will be priced under a 25-year guaranteed capacity agreement on a US Dollar basis. This model stands out as an important indicator of the project's sustainability and that economic cooperation between the two countries is progressing on solid foundations.
 
Machinery and equipment for the Talimercan Natural Gas Combined Cycle Power Plant were transported to Talimercan city in Uzbekistan within six months through a large logistics operation conducted from five different points in Turkey. Construction of the plant was completed at record pace through a major coordinated effort. 

This project once again demonstrates Aksa Enerji's success in international energy investments while playing a key role in ensuring Uzbekistan's energy supply security and developing strategic cooperation between the two countries.
