Women in Energy Project by Akkök Holding Akkök Holding's Women in Energy project, implemented by its subsidiaries Akenerji, SEDAŞ and Sepaş Enerji, reached 1,500 people in its first year. Under the Women in Energy project jointly managed by the holding's energy group companies, the company organizes 'Women in Energy - On Campus', SEDAŞ 'Women in Energy - Next' and SEPAŞ 'Women in Energy - Something Must Happen' programmes. Within the scope of the projects, various initiatives have been implemented to support the career journeys of university students, the daughters of employees studying at secondary, high school and university level, and women working in group companies. Akkök Holding Board and Executive Committee Member Özlem Ataünal shared details of the project.

"We are expanding Women in Energy across Turkey"

Ataünal, emphasizing that women need to be strengthened socioeconomically and have greater participation in the decision-making mechanisms of the energy sector, stated: "For sustainable development both in our country and globally in the future, women's participation in the economy is essential. With this project, we are working to eliminate barriers placed before women in working life and to encourage them. In the first year of our 'Women in Energy' project, we are very pleased to have taken concrete steps on gender equality and equal opportunity, reaching more women." Ataünal, underlining that university students, women employees of the energy group companies and the daughters of employees studying at secondary, high school and university level benefited from the project simultaneously, stated: "In the first year of our project, we directly benefited 1,500 people. We have rolled up our sleeves to expand the scope of our project to increase this number across Turkey." Source
