Akfen Yenilenebilir Enerji Renews ISO 26000 Certificate

Akfen Yenilenebilir Enerji has earned the right to renew its ISO 26000 Social Responsibility Standard certification, a norm developed to provide guidance on social responsibility matters. Through the ISO 26000 Social Responsibility Standard, Akfen Yenilenebilir Enerji aims to ensure that all of its activities comply with international ethical principles, environmental and legal standards, and cultural and political diversity. Akfen Yenilenebilir Enerji, in partnership with the Turkey Human Resources Training and Health Foundation (TİKAV) founded by Akfen Holding, develops national projects for people living in regions where energy production facilities are located.
6,800 women reached through four different projects
Akfen Yenilenebilir Enerji, which produces only from domestic and renewable sources—solar, water, and wind—with an installed capacity of 700 megawatts, targets not only energy production but also combating climate change, protecting biodiversity, environmental and social management, and improving living standards for stakeholders in its regions. Within this scope, the company has earned the right to renew its ISO 26000 Social Responsibility Standard certification, a norm developed to provide guidance to organizations on social responsibility matters. Through this standard, Akfen Yenilenebilir Enerji aims to ensure that all of its activities comply with international ethical principles, environmental and legal standards, and cultural and political diversity. In 2017, the "We Studied at Home" project reached 800 women in 15 regions regarding the development of children aged 0-6. In 2018, designated as the year of health, the "Health First" project provided health education to 1,500 women in 17 regions. The "Hygiene is Health" project, which began in 2019, reached 2,000 women at 26 different locations, while the "Saving in Our Home, Future in Our Hands" project, launched following the COVID-19 pandemic, provided training to 2,500 women. Through four different social responsibility projects, a total of 6,800 women received face-to-face training on various subjects. The number of people reached indirectly through these projects exceeded 20,000. Most recently, under the "Saving in Our Home, Future in Our Hands" project, women were engaged in the following regions: Anamur in Mersin; Karacasu and Bozdoğan in Aydın; Acıpayam and Kale in Denizli; Seydikemer and Ula in Muğla; Aziziye in Erzurum; Merkez in Elazığ; Sarayönü and Ereğli in Konya; Yahyalı in Kayseri; Gemerek in Sivas; Turhal in Tokat; Merkez in Amasya; Dereli and Bulancak in Giresun; Köprübaşı in Trabzon; Edremit in Van; Gevye in Sakarya; and Merkez and Lapseki in Çanakkale.   Source
